But I'm getting a jump on organizing my craft room and decided to take inventory of Christmas Past. I just ordered this 2022 Christmas Album and I realized that I've purchased these many many times in past years. They are always high quality and well organized. I think that's why I like them they are all designed out for me. Less thinking needed on my part. Are these not the cutest projects of all time!?! I like to use these for Mini-Scrapbooks or Photo Albums. Sometimes I like to use them for Christmas Planners. Whatever you use them for give it a try they are lots of fun.

These are the Album Kits I have purchased in previous years

2016 - Joy Christmas Album

2017 - Falala

2018 - Merry Days Traveler's Notebook Christmas Albums

Cheers! 🥂

M!ss Pr!ssy

M!ssPr!ssyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12182751196006753717noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-221228351226348946.post-15645788125275564522022-05-18T13:17:00.003-07:002022-10-16T15:23:38.938-07:00DIY SHIMMER BODY SCRUB
The summer heat and sunshine often bring dry skin with them, but these two fun, simple DIYs will combat the dryness while adding a bit of sparkle to your skin! Use them together in the summer or anytime you want a little extra shimmer in your day.

A body scrub is a great way to remove dry, dead skin, and following it with body oil helps to lock in moisture. Body oil also enhances the appearance of arms and legs (or really any body part on which you apply it). These DIYs are a fun way to rehydrate!

DIY SHIMMER BODY SCRUB

* 1/3 cup brown sugar

* 1/3 cup white sugar

* 2 tablespoons finely ground coffee

* 1 teaspoon silver cosmetic mica (https://amzn.to/38NybIf) or gold cosmetic mica (https://amzn.to/3EnkICE)

* ½ teaspoon Savvy Minerals Wanderlust eyeshadow

* 2 tablespoons jojoba or olive oil

* 5 drops of essential oil(s) (Lavender, Peace & Calming, Ylang ylang & Vanilla are some good ones!)

Add sugars, coffee and mica/eyeshadow to a small bowl and combine. Mix in jojoba oil and essential oils and store in a glass jar.

When you're in the shower, scrub dry skin gently, then rinse. You'll be left with radiant skin and a soft, barely there sparkle!

Note: This scrub should keep for 2-3 months without the need for refrigeration. Be careful not to get any water in your scrub or it will go bad much sooner.

DIY SHIMMER BODY OIL

* Dry carrier oil such as rosehip oil (https://amzn.to/3OoIp2m) or avocado oil (https://amzn.to/383T9Cx) - you can use jojoba oil or V-6 carrier oil but the result will be more oily and need to dry longer on the skin

* Savvy Minerals eyeshadow in a shimmery color:

* Wanderlust: pearl-colored shimmer

* Envy: brown shimmer

* Residual: gold-tone shimmer

* Note: Mixing Residual or Wanderlust with Envy will give you a gold or pearl toned bronzing effect

Combine the ingredients in a small bowl, and stir until thoroughly combined. Use the back of a spoon to break up large chunks of eyeshadow and create a smooth oil. Continue adding eye shadow until you get a color you like.

Transfer to a lidded glass jar and keep for up to a year.

This DIY body oil may look dark in the bottle, but when applied, the effect is very subtle. The eyeshadow tends to settle at the bottom of the oil, so shake gently before each use.

Customize this body oil for you! If you want a bronzing effect use a shade of eyeshadow with bronze tones. If you just want shimmer without the bronze shade, use a white- or pearl-colored eyeshadow like Wanderlust or powder highlighter like the Diamond Veil.

https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/referral/2942205

M!ssPr!ssyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12182751196006753717noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-221228351226348946.post-19129264489441972052018-12-01T16:31:00.003-08:002018-12-01T16:31:20.768-08:00May the Spirit of Christmas be Magical and its Hopes Brighter~

Wow! Its been 3 years since I've managed a blog post. I have something fun to share. I got crafty and finished a pretty Christmas Traveler's Journal. It was a kit from one of my favorite ladies HERE. I just love the Blackwatch Plaid it reminds me of the uniforms we wore in grade school at a parochial school. So when I saw this Christmas Journal Kit I knew I had to have it.
I was never skeptical when I first started using essential oils. I'm not gonna lie. I'm a sucker for just about anything.

I come by essential oils pretty naturally. I'm a flower-child of the 70s. nuff said? I've used some kind of incense pretty much most of my life in one form or another. I was already using essential-oils in my everyday life. I use Lavendar every evening at bedtime and I use Lemon-Grass during the day. These were my go-to daily oils. I just loved how relaxing and fresh it makes my home and I loved the spa-like atmosphere essential oils creates. So I was a pretty easy sale or cheap date.

I've used over-the-counter noname brand essential oils first. Both my daughters are in industries that lend themselves very well to essential oils. One of my daughters spends part of her time, when she's not running her day job as a Certified Yoga instructor and the other is an internationally certified massage therapist and holistic health practictioner. When I was introduced to Young Living essential oils and I could tell a difference right away. I became even more interested. The more I used them and read about them, the more I became convinced that these medicinal grade essential oils were the way to go. Little drops of love designed by God to help us.

Over the past year, I have discovered that they are superb at promoting wellness, boosting your immunity, and removing toxins from your body. The only thing you’re going to wish, when you finally decide to take the plunge, is that you would have taken it sooner!

If you’ve just been waiting for the right opportunity to try them, you’ve come to the right place! We have an amazing support system for helping you get started using essential oils and all of Young Living’s wonderful products. You will enjoy the community atmosphere of our FB groups and access to all of our private classes and webinars. These products are they superb for your body and your home. I’ve gotten rid of 95% of my household cleaners—you know, the ones that give you asthma without proper ventilation!— and have replaced with pure, natural non toxic alternatives for a FRACTION of the cost. Cleaning has never been more pleasant!

So whether you’re struggling with low energy level, hormone imbalance, a compromised immune system or just not feeling yourself, we have something for you! You're Loved No Matter What! When I saw that title it caught my eye and I scurried on over to read the entire blog post. I follow many blogs via Feedly. I must follow hundreds. My interest range from... well, first and foremost, papercrafts of course. But then I've noticed my taste ranges from design blogs, farming, cooking, inspirational, jewelry making, all the way to interiors and fashion. This particular blog is a blog about faith, another topic near and dear to my heart. The article was highlighting recommended reading but was a very encouraging article and the book looks like a good read too. The high-level message from the blog post were about the friends and family our hearts need most... I've taken the creative license and added the words 'and FAMILY' because I think it applies as well to families.

A Loving Friend and Family Enjoys You

A Loving Friend and Family Doesn't Speak Negatively about You

A Loving Friend and Family Is Your Advocate and Encourager

A Loving Friend and Family Helps You Become All You’re Created to Be

Conversely, if you don't choose to enjoy your friends and family or you speak negatively about them, you refuse to be an advocate and offer encouragement... well that's just not LOVE. I believe they will still become all they are created to be just without you. Be kind people, love and forgive one another you may never get another chance. Life is short. One of my favorite sayings. Sweep your side of the street first. Amen.
Peace out
Hello, M!ss Pr!ssy here...

I seriously cannot believe that it's been exactly one year and ten months since I've done a blog post. Wow!! Well, I'm posting something tonight because I actually have something to post. I went onto Pinterest to see if I could get inspired and sure enough I did. I don't know how long this stamp company has been around but they are a new favorite of mine. It's called Mama Elephant and they have some kahute images. When I saw these little Mama Bears I just had to have them. I'm hoping to get the lead out or dust off the cobwebs and start posting again on a regular basis. I think life just gets in the way sometimes and I hit a wall energy-wise as well. I used to come home from work practically every evening and work into the night on something crafty and then all weekend too. Well, since my last post way back in June 2013 that has not been happening. I pretty much work, sleep and work and sleep. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Here's to getting my MAGIC back! A little magic can take you a long way!!

This card was made with inspiration from ---> here. For the card base I used Stampin Up black cardstock. The card face I used watercolor paper, an ombre watercolor technique and Stampin Up white embossing powder for the sentiment.

I have to say it was alot of fun dusting off some of my old supplies. I had to find where I put them and squirrled away. Everytime I opened a new drawer looking for a supply it was like Christmas. I used to have a room dedicated to crafting but have since had to downsize my ENTIRE CRAFTY AREA (see before and after pics to my previous craftroom redo) to 1/2 of a closet and a folding table at the end of my bed in my bedroom. I know SCANDALOUS. A guest bedroom became more important, and priorities change. I'm not bitter. Remember this beautiful set-up?

An entire room

Well that didn't last long before the precious real estate had to be reclaimed to a guest room Try and picture ALL OF THE ABOVE now resides in 1/2 of a wall-length closet. I think I know where my mojo went.

Hello,

Just chick'n in to see if anybody's out there.... hello hello hello hello. (think echo-sound). My little blog is woefully neglected but every now and then I like to pop-in with some blews (blews=blog news, I just made that up). LOL, still crackin myself up. What I've been up to lately? That is the question. Awhile ago, I took a class at my mostest favorite stamp store ever!!! ---> Papertales (hi Michelle) with my mostest favorite teacher/designer ever, ---> Debby Schuh. I'm taking this ---> class in July!! Can't wait. Anyway, the journal was called 'Recipe of Me' and could be used to hold stories of people, places and events that made up 'me'. However, I decided to modify and use it for a recipe holder all of my favorite, well-worn, family heirloom recipes. I think its perfect for it!

I've been meaning to transfer all of the recipes I love to recipe cards (either 4 x 6 or 5 x 8, whichever fits better) and include in my journal. Some I will print out and some I am going to handwrite. My personal recipes and family heirloom recipes will be handwritten. I've assembled a stack of all of my favorite recipes. Some are my favorites, some have been printed off the internet, some from family/friends.

I will keep all of my Soup & Stew recipes here. I made a flap on the bottom inch of the tag card by folding it up approx an inch. That way when I pull the tag out of the envelope the recipes come up with it. I wanted to store several recipes in this envelope so the flap contains them easier.

I made blank recipe card templates (of course I did) digitally (in MSWord) using (download font here --->) 'Old Typewriter' font style. It's one of my favorite fonts to use for papercrafting and adds to the vintage feel I'm going for. What I love about my recipe card templates is I made them in several sizes, 3x5, 4x6 and 5x8. I can use whichever size works best for the page I'm using in my journal. They are fully editable and can be modified as needed. I also made them double-wide (or long ,,)) with a dotted line for the fold. So would that make them 6x5, 8x6 and 10x8??? OMG nevermind. I can either type in the recipe and printout or print blank recipe cards and handwrite. I can also add clipart or borders if I like. So far, I've kept mine plain with just the classic blue lines and red borderline. I plan on customizing sometime. Aren't they cute? I printed them out on cardstock to make them sturdier.
I think this journal lends itself very well for 'favorite recipes'. I made category tabs as needed. I printed them out using the first couple of rows from my recipe card template. I added clipart to the category headings as you can see.
Repurpose, Reuse, Recycle. I love finding old items and turning them into new functional items. I've done it before and I'll do it again. A couple of years ago I picked up a really cool solid oak Antique/Vintage full-size bedframe (complete with headboard, footboard, slats). I was told by the owners it was at least 100 years old and had been in their parents home. I picked it up for $25 and I knew it was a diamond in the rough. I was super excited and brought it home to show the hus my great find (and his new project).

Now, I didn't need a bedframe nor did I have any space for it (other than to store it in the garage) but I have always wanted/needed a bench at the end of my bed. I research DIY projects on the web and found a lot of ideas. The first words out of his mouth of course were, I'm not doing it, don't expect me to do it, I will never make a bench out of that bedframe and stop bringing home projects for 'me' to do. That went over well, tell me how you really feel? Me: "How long do you think it will take?" LOL. That went over really well. Fast forward a couple of years. Hope springs eternal. Of course, I'm like a dog with a bone. I suggested what a great Christmas present my finished bench would be. When that didn't happen, I suggested what a great birthday present a finished bench would be!?! There's always Valentines Day and/or our Anniversary?!? Anything? Crickets.
AND NOW? Walla...

Headboard:

Footboard (With the cut-to-size side slats already prepped). Usually the headboard is used for the bench back and the footboard is used for the bench front. I liked the straight lines of the footboard so I decided to use the footboard for the back of the bench because the headboard was too tall for my purposes, I wanted to preserve the wood carving/scroll work it was too pretty to cut to pieces. The left over piece of wood of the headboard I plan on making into a shelf with pegs for hanging. (Honey?). Plus the footboard was the perfect size with no cutting required :

The front toe kick part/the two front legs are cut from the bottom piece of the headboard:

The almost finished product (with no flash) but you get the gist, the project was from a full-sized bedframe and it fit perfectly at the end of my queen-sized bed:

The almost finished product (with flash). I know it looks a little rough, well a lot rough. It will still need to be sanded and stained (espresso stain or maybe painted) to match the bedroom furniture. I was just so excited to get it finished. I didn't want to hold up production. I can always sand/stain it later. Doesn't it have great character and age?!?!?! I'll take more pictures and update this post later when I've been able to apply the finishing touches. Sometimes you just have to believe it to see it (me) and sometimes you just have to see it to believe it (the hus). When all was said and done my husband says, "good idea". Really? Preaching to the choir. I love it and now I have a place to set extra bedding or clothes. Its really special because my husband made it for me. He did ask, "Can this be for both your Christmas and Birthday present?" and I said, "YES, of course. I'm a cheap date." What's a little sweat equity... come on.... pweeze.
One of these days... I'll have a kick@$$ blog. I'll have a million+ followers. I'll be linked to twitter, facebook, google, Martha as in Stewart, Pdub and Bill Gates. My metadata and keywords will harvest only the number one spot in search engines. They will KNOW WHERE I AM and that I exist.

Until then, its little ole me. M!ssPr!ssy. Paper, ribbon, ink, stampin, scrapping and yatayatayata with a capital "Y". The capital "Y" because I do more yack'n than priss'n lately. In the meantime. I have yet another 'Chef Tip of the Century'. You will love the genius. When I bake bread I like to cover it until the last ten minutes or so to avoid burning. Except you have to leave a 'dome' to allow for expansion. Over the years, I fold the aluminum foil in thirds leaving a little accordion fold along the center approximately one inch, like a tent. Then once I wrap the bread pans I pull up on this little center fold. Hoping it will expand enough to leave room for the loaf to rise while cooking and the top of the bread doesn't stick to the foil. I also always spray the foil tent with a cooking spray to avoid sticking as well. I never 100% liked this technique because it wasn't exactly shaped round like a dome it was more shaped like an "A" tent. Enter brainchild.

Notice the shape of the top arm of a common mixer?
There's nothing like comfort food on a rainy, fall Sunday afternoon. I've had requests for my recipe for Shepard's Pie, so I thought I'd do a quick blog post to share. It's so quick and easy and yummy and good and... well you get the picture. Typically, only ground beef and peas are used in most Shepard's Pie recipes that I've seen. I like more veggies than that so in my rendition I add one can each of corn, substituting green beans (instead of peas) and thinly sliced carrots (fresh not canned). I think its a healthier version adding more veggies and its more colorful. Typically I think that a cream soup is used instead of brown gravy also. I prefer brown gravy.

Cook's Tip: I forgot to line my cookie sheet with aluminum foil first, now I'll have a mess to clean up!

Recipe

2 lbs of ground beef

(I used organic and I'm sure you could use ground turkey)

2 large jars of brown gravy or

4 packets of brown gravy mix

1 chopped onion

1 tsp chopped garlic

1 can of corn

1 can of green beans or peas

(Typically peas are used. I like green beans better)

4-6 carrots sliced thinly

8-10 servings of instant mashed potatoes

4-6 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (to taste)

Brown the ground beef in a fry pan. Add the chopped onion/garlic and simmer until ground beef is fully cooked, drain off excess grease. Add the brown gravy to the beef/onion mixture, simmer for 5 minutes. While this is cooking make the instant mashed potatoes (7-10 servings) according to package directions. (I like a good one inch layer to my Shepard's Pie). Layer the ground beef mixture into a 9x11 casserole dish. Add the corn, beans and carrots, mix all together. Spread mashed potatoes over the top covering all. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes to taste. Place the casserole dish onto an aluminum foil lined cookie sheet (to catch spills). Cover with aluminum foil (spray mine with Pam on the inside so it doesn't stick to the cheese). Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30-40 minutes or until bubbling. Take the aluminum foil off for the last 10 minutes to brown the cheese.

Enjoy!

A couple of in-process pics

All the ingredients mixed together before mashed potato topping. Make sure you get the carrots mixed into the gravy good because they still need to cook.

Mashed potato and cheddar cheese topping added just before the oven. My shredded cheddar was frozen from the freezer.
Hellerrrrrr!

Wow I've not been blogging much. Working full-time puts a major crimp in my playtime. OBVIOUSLY. How appropriate to start a post after having been gone so long, <strike>whining</strike> with the "y" part of PRISSy aka yatayatayata.

and now for the point to my story....

Recently, I LOST a favorite recipe of mine. It was on a 3x5 recipe card. It was ancient and I mean ancient. Distressed and antiqued to perfection including watermarks and stains from being out on the counter next the bowl while cooking. This recipe card is so old the ink (not pencil, INK) on the card is fading. This also makes it one-of-a-kind. Imagine my distress when I realized I had misplaced it? It also just happened to be MY favorite Oatmeal Cookie recipe EVER. I really have never found a recipe to match this one. I was so excited when I found the card today whilst cleaning a cupboard. Go figure? I decided to make a post about it to share with you all my devoted blog followers and also for selfish reasons. If I ever lose the card again I an refer back to this post.

I thought I'd share this favorite recipe as a hello back and thanks for sticking with me. <insert crickets="" here="" sound=""> Leave a comment to let me know you and I are alive? </insert>

This is my (maternal) grandmother, Fanny's recipes. I loved her so much. Maybe I'll do a post about her one day. Her life is so fascinating I couldn't do it justice with just a mention today. So more on her later.

~ENJOY!
Fanny's Chewy Oatmeal Cookies

Seriously, I'm not lying these are the best Oatmeal Cookies EVER

Preheat oven 350

1 cup sifted flour

3/4 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

3/4 shortening (Crisco)

1 1/3 Cups firmly packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups of uncooked oats

1 cup raisins

Sift dry ingredients

Add shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla

Beat until smooth (approx 2 min)

Stir in oats and raisins

Drop on greased cookie sheets

12-15 min

Makes about 3.5 dozen (and I'm not kidding)

Cooks Tip No. 1: Optional, add 1 cup of butterscotch chips for 'oatmeal scotchy' version.

Cooks Tip No. 2: Add a crust of bread to the cookie jar your cookies will keep their just baked texture (soft/moist/chewy) for entire shelf life. I've done this for years and I don't know why this works but it does. Funny, my husband uses this tip now too. It made me chuckle to go to the cookie jar and see a crust of bread in the jar that he put there.

...that might be an appropriate summation for how things have gone for me this last year. I feel so on again/off again....AND its so unpredictable when this will happen. Don't know about you but I love this time of year. I know we can get a fresh start each and every day but there is just something about the New Year that says DO-OVER. I love do-overs. Also, it puts me in a cleaning mood. Actually I like to clean, I find it very Zenlike. Not only that, it somehow "orders" my mind. I like that. I am also a list person, list making somehow orders my mind too. (...as in organize). I don't have any pix to coordinate with this post but I thought I'd just pop in and say HI and post the Short List of projects I'd like to work on, finish etc... in no particular order or urgency. This is the list I came up with while taking inventory as I was dusting my artist studio. I am also going to have a couple of items For Sale. I will create a separate post for these things.
I used to live in Cranberry Country I think its only appropriate that I have at least one recipe that contains cranberries. Don't you? Me too! This one's a keeper so I thought I'd share tis' the season!
CRANBERRY BARS
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups whole cranberries
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped nuts
(I save the nuts to sprinkle on top of the frosting.
I don't add these to the cake batter, but you can if you want to)
(I think pecans are better with cranberries but you can use walnuts)

Mix together and bake in greased 9x13 pan @ 350 degrees for 40-45 min
...are links that form a chain of love. ~Mother Teresa

Wow several posts two days in a row and a couple in one day! I must be on a roll. I'm happy I'm back blogging and crafting again but can you say RUSTY. I felt like a chicken with my head cut off. For the record, at least for me it's really REALLY hard to get your mojo back. I just can't seem to find my flow anymore? I do more thinking about than actually making cards.

Its the stop-start-stop-starting thats getting to me. Working full-time really puts a crimp in my social aka creative life. Boo. Ok enough yatayata. I am so so rusty. I can't hardly find anything anymore. Or I have so many ideas I want to try out I don't know where to start.

Plus, I am all dropsy and clumsy today. Every time I turned around I was knocking something over. Not just one little item nooooooooooo that would have been too simple. No I was knocking trays of items over.

Then I really really wanted to do sewing on a card. So I thought I'd try my new fancy schmancy tool called Sew- Easy <---- click there instead of pulling out the alternative, the larger, sewing machine. I thought it would be so much quicker. Ok short version??? NOOOOO....Not so easy. Nope not at all. It wasn't piercing all the way through the card stock. I did not like it at all. However, I have noticed some tutorials online on YouTube so I might watch those and try again later when I have time. The jury is still out until then.

So the heck with it, I pull the sewing machine out, it's called Sew-Mini <---- click there (not the exact model that I have). It's specially for crafting and its just what it says... its a mini version of a sewing machine. WELLLLLLLLLL do you think I could get it to sew more than three stitches.? I persisted and spent way more time on it than I wanted to but after at least an hour, give or take, I finally got it to SEWWWWWWW. Really? Ya kiddin me right? Turns out I didn't have the thread threaded properly. But before that I tried everything. Check and recheck the bobbin thread, adjust the stitch, adjust the tension, DUST it. I mean everything. I even had the directions manual out from the beginning. So I went back through the manual and looked at each tutorial very closely. I retraced my steps. Yep, I found the cuprit.... threaded wrong. But do you see my point? Holy mother of pearl. Pain in the butt. This was my sample piece. I thought I better try it on a scrap before I wrecked my card. This is but a small sampling of the thread I went through to figure this out. Doesn't that look like fun?!?!>!>!

Whew, I started out so holy and serene and it all went downhill from there. LOL. So onto the point to my story.... there is a point to my story and I do have one.

I been noticing a trend of mono-tone, color-on-color designs and I really like the simplicity of it and the muted colors and feel. I've had this SU set "Inspired by Nature" <---- click there for a while now. I bought it for the sentiments alone, but I like the other stamps also. I'm crazy for sentiments I can't get enough of them. AND I copied the sketch straight from the SU 2011 catty, p. 113. It helps me with the rust (see above). It was quick (after I got started) and easy and I will probably mass-produce this one for my card assortment sets that I give as gifts.

Here is a pic of all of the elements I used. The evil sew-mini in the background. Why I even gave it blink (blog-ink) at all DON'T KNOW. All products are SU. I used More Mustard card stock and ink. I like that it used fall colors too. That's a bonus since I'm in such a fall mood. I used my boho flower punch to make the blush blossom flower. I added a little angel embellishment which I thought went good with the sentiment. I also used a brad in the center to hold the 3-piece flower together. Aint it purty.

See the little angel ornament? I also used my Cuttlebug <---- click there (not the exact model that I have) to punch out the tag for the sentiment. That didn't go smoothly either. I had to press it out a couple of time because I kept tearing the little handles off. Not to mention that I couldn't stamp the image straight onto the label either. I had to do that a couple of times also. RUST I tell you RUST.

Enjoy! Now off to make some more cards.... lets just hope some of the rust is gone and the next ones go a little smoother. FUN.

Well, hello there! First a backstory... I had written an entire post last night with this recipe including pics and saved it to my drafts to publish later. When I went back to get the post and publish it... it was GONE. Boo what a waste of time. Anywho, here's what it said:

I love fall baking and so I thought I'd share one of my favorite recipes. It has nutmeg and cinnamon in it so it makes the house smell divine and fallish. Just what I wanted. Now for the *twist* part... the crust is on the bottom ~and oh so good~ I only took a couple of pics of the process and not the play by play that I sometimes share. Its a simple yet elegant recipe. Try it, its good.

Crust Bottom Coffee Cake
Rub together:
1 stick of butter ~room temperature~
2 cups of flour
2 cus of brown sugar

Divide mixture into 2 parts
~I did the math, that would be 2 cups and 4 tblspns~
Press part 1 into an 8x8 cake pan
~I used my 9 in round clay baker and it was a perfect fit also~

To the other part add:
1 beaten egg
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg ~maybe a smidge more~
Mix well and spread carefully over the crust bottome
Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and chopped nuts
I like to make sure my cinnamon covers the entire top.

I use a liberal amount so that no cake area is showing and then also sprinkle nuts over it. Use lots of cinnamon

Below on the left is the 1 part pressed into the bottom and on the right is the other part. The cake part that is spread onto the crust bottom

Here's the same shot with a flash. I wanted you to see the lovely and yummo crust bottom. This is a very elegant coffe cake and is great to bring to a potluck or Sunday event.

What started it was a plumbing problem I had to clear over half of the contents of the room to make room for the plumbers so they could put holes in the walls in order to get at the plumbing problem [whole house hot water lines re-plumbed]... we had a slab leak so they had to re-route above ground to fix it]. The redecoration was a long time coming, since the move last year in July. So for over a year. Although I had set it up initially it had long housed a jumbled collection of mismatched furniture, jerry-rigged shelving [a vintage bench used for a shelf], boxes, crates that were used just *until* and in general just too much stuff for one room without planned organization. For such a long time I've had a dream of an organized space with a place for everything and everything in its place. Ya know?

If your decorating inspiration is on a small budget then IKEA comes to the rescue. I researched other peoples spaces on the web, blog-surfing and such and decided upon two IKEA Expedite units, one with 5x5 cubicles and one with 4x4 cubicles. Mainly I wanted functional and I chose white because it goes with everything. Most of my other wood around the house is the dark espresso stain. I had three choices birch, black-brown or white. I felt the black-brown would make the room seem dark and smaller and I didn't want to go with the birch because most of my other furniture in the house is black-brown [or espresso] and I didn't want to start mixing wood colors. So I chose white because it seemed more craft-roomish?! But it also seemed brighter and cleaner. Something cheerful for my *happy place* Turns out that everything fits, everything is functional, and everything is beautiful.

AND we only got in <s>two</s> <s>three</s> <s>four</s> one <s>huge</s> small fight. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that we had to make SEVERAL trips back and forth to IKEA for different exchanges/units, YES, I MEASURED... the first u-turn was because we forgot to load one item and left it on the loading sidewalk [that was one trip], then <s>we</s> I decided to exchange the entire purchase for one smaller unit because I <s>didn't</s> measured wrong[nuf said??], the truck broke down on one return trip and triple AAA had to be called and the truck towed. During the towing trip one of the boxes that we were returning flew off onto the HIGHWAY and had to be retrieved promptly. On top of all of this it was hot and Mr. M had a kidney stone festering. Did I mention it was HOT. We only got in <s>two</s> <s>three</s> <s>four</s> one <s>huge</s> small fight. Oh I mentioned that already.

I didn't have one IKEA meltdown and we also had lunch while there. I always get their *Swedish meatballs* lunch, pretty yummy.

Welcome to my new space [I'll have some before and after]

First, the before, quite a lot of stuff but no where to house it [all pictures follow the text and click on any picture to enlarge]
Another after shot, a view from the door with everything put back into the room and my new red-checked country curtains. I have curtains on the closet door shelves also to hide the clutter when not in use. I removed the existing closet doors because they slid back and forth and you could only access one side at a time. Above the table you can see the stamper shelves that I made out of a repurposed wood futon. I painted them with black chalkboard paint. I did another post about these shelves <with afters="" and="" before="">here, and here <------ This was before I painted them black. I promise I'll be back blogging soon. I came up with a solution to my empty ink storage container. A while back I ordered a 70s wooden cassette tape holder [remember those] from eBay to store my ink pads. It can hold up to 100 cassettes or in this case ink pads. Well, at the time I only had approx 30 ink pads thinking I'd have room to grow ,) so I got the larger holder. Fast forward, I never did add more large ink pads to my collection. I tend to use the smaller ink spots and just never found a need to purchase more larger ones. Since I wasn't using the holder as intended I was even considering selling it and getting something more compact. It was taking up needless space in my craft area. Then a scathingly brilliant idea came to me. I can store my Martha Stewart paper punches by turning the punches handle side inwards. Then I had to come up with a solution in order to see the punch image [which is facing up and not visible]. I punched each image onto low tack masking tape material [its the white stuff] and then colored each image appropriately so it would show up better on the white punches.

As you can see, the entire holder is filled now and its holding approx 30 punches with room for a few more ,). The punches were sitting on a shelf and took up quite a bit of room. They take up a lot less space this way and are easily accessible.

EDITED TO ADD: The punches take up two spaces each. One for the top handle of the punch and one for the bottom handle of the punch. Each handle slipping into a separate space. You have to squeeze the handles together a little bit to slide into the space but this is better because when they bounce back they fit snuggly .
I think it turned out very cute. All stamps are *Crafty Secrets*. I inked the image with white craft ink [SU] and made a winter scene even though the image is really a summer image [the snow banks are really flowers]. I covered these with liquid applique and heated it with my heat gun and walla... it looks like puffy snow. I love the vintage feel of this card from the color of the cardstock, the monochromatic use of white ink and the lighter shade of green used for the greeting. I used white flower soft for the house roof and dazzling diamond clear glitter for the light of the silvery moon. I used my sharpie white marker for the smoke coming from the chimney. I love this card.

Just a quick post to share a card I made with the Stampin Up set called *Farm Life*. I love rustic, country and vintage images in general and this set met all of those. I was so excited about how this turned out I wanted to post it right away. I haven't been blogging much [I do visit fb more so lately] but I am hoping to remedy this SOOOOOON. I've pretty much failed at my P.A.D. [picture-a-day] project, I've failed at staying focused on my word for the year F.I.T. [yeah not so much YET] soooo I have removed those page tabs until such time as I'm either compliant or caught up. I have added a tab, however, titled *the little things* and I have a running list of things that I feel grateful for. I want to fill that list up so I am keeping that tab active.

I stamped the fence using a Crafty Secrets set called *Sweet Kids* I only inked the fence part of the image. I colored the fence with my Sharpie white pen, the rest of the images were colored in with my Copic markers. I added creative candy to look like flowers and I used a Mulberry paper to add a touch of fiber and texture and I stamped the sentiment on this mulberry type paper. I also airbrushed the back very lightly to give it an appearance of a blue sky.
