I am very happy that I have finally gotten my bloggers challenge Week 9 posted. In this challenge we were supposed to use our punches. Well as you can see the matte to my SU image from "On the Move" set is punched out using the Marvy Scalloped punch. I really love this card, the colors, the sketch etc. BUT I can't take credit for it because I 100% CASED (C_opy A_nd S_hare w/E_veryone) and I found the inspiration over at SCS in the gallery. A fellow stamper Diana Gibson designed these. I am going to make a set and send them to my mother because she just moved. Make sure that you check out all of the other bloggers that have participated in this weekly challenges in the links on the right of my blog. Now onto Week 10. I am behind a couple of weeks.

Nothing to Post AGAIN
Just checking in to apologize to all my blog friends for no post August (practically). I have been super busy and now I am getting ready to go out of town on business for 2 days and I will not have access to a computer. OMG. I will have to go through blog withdrawal and everything. I am going to a training course for CEUs for my job and it is in the "Real Orange County". I will be staying at the Hilton Orange County both days. It's not that far from where I live in San Diego to commute, except the course starts at 8:00 a.m. and to get there on time avoiding traffic I would have to leave at 5 a.m. The commute home would be equally as rough and then to turn around and go back. So I am staying up there. Unfortunately, I don't have a laptop so I don't know if I will even be able to check emails/blogs. I have a friend who lives in Anaheim and I might drive over there to visit. I can probably use his computer. See you all Wednesday! Have a great week and try not to let Monday get you down.

Scrap Expo
Ironic... isn't it?... the Stampin Up banner was the backdrop in the picture, too funny. I should have taken way more photos at the recent Scrap Expo in San Diego but I never do. I am not that great of a shutterbug. I just wanted to share a couple that I did take. I made a point of stopping by the Crafty Secrets booth to meet IRL in person Vicki Chrisman and Sandy Redburn. It is so fun to meet people that you only know via blogoland. Even though I don't know these people it feels like I do through the powers of the internet. Vicki and Sandy were busy as bees in their booth. So many beautiful examples I really wish I would have photo'd these. They were nice enough to take the time to chat and of course help me with my purchases even though they were super busy. I only went back to the booth 3 or 4 times because I remembered that I wanted something else. That's me on the right looking a little wilted because it was hot in there. Sorry for the not so good resolution on the photo.

Friday Funny
I was blurfing a bit this a.m. and found this extremely funny video and just had to post it. It's worth all 6 minutes of it. If you repeated it 10 times I think it would make a great exercise video if you could keep up with the guys movements. ~enjoy

Bloggers Challenge Week 8 - Inspiration
Ingredients: Love. When am I ever early at anything? I am posting my submission for the Friday Bloggers challenge a couple of days early. I am going to be really busy this weekend (going to the Scrapbook Expo for one thing) and won't have time. Plus, I was excited I couldn't wait that long. For this weeks Friday's Blogger Challenge we were supposed to ....pick something we are inspired by - say a pattern in a piece of clothing, colors in a rug. Some design that inspires us to create a card or project. Then we were supposed to post the picture of the item where we got our inspiration along with the finished project. This week I chose this little vintage spice rack. Just so happens I had a "happy mail day" and just received a new (albeit retired) stamp set in the mail TODAY called "Roosting" It's a retired Stampin Up set. I knew just the inspiration so I could utilize my new stamp set. I REALLY have a mix of stamps in this card. Notice the new A Muse background stamp "Tin Pie Plate" that I used double duty for dirt, the Crafty Secrets sentiment "Ingredients" and yes the Paper Tray sentiment "love". All other ingredients SU unless otherwise noted. The rooster is raised up with dimensional's. I used rose red and very vanilla card stock and a really orange ribbon. The clash in colors of the true orange and rose red really works in a one off sort of way. Maybe you can't see it here but it is nice IRL. I thought this could use an embellishment or some aging technique on the edges of the cardstock but phooey I couldn't think that hard tonight. I also tried to stay true to the colors of the inspiration piece, which I like a lot. I think Mr. Rooster looks very vintage, just what I like. I hope you like. ~enjoy
Be sure and check out all of the other bloggers in this challenge -------> on the right of my blog in the panel.
PS: did I mention how much fun I'm having doing these?

Sunday Sunday!
I've seen a few "sorry I'm such a bad blogger" posts lately and frankly I have to admit I've joined that club. I'm not hiding, promise.
I think it gets busier in some ways in the summer for some reason?? Anyway, I hope to have something to post later... I have so many great ideas floating around in my head. Plus I went to Card Class yesterday at my upline's house and we had soooo much fun. So I wanted to share some highlights. Just need to finish up some domestic stuff, then we're going hiking and then I hope to have something pretty to share. Have a great rest of your Sunday.

Bloggers Challenge Week 7
I've used Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps "Fairies". I took a 1-subject $1 notebook from Target and altered it. I attached SU CS using the red tape. I didn't bother with taking off/on the spiral, this was a first altered journal and I wasn't sure how to do it? I cut a piece of CS to fit the front. I was going to put ribbon down the whole spiral but as I attached the ribbon, I just liked it in the corner. I masked the fairy and used SU "Peaceful Wishes" for the branch. The sentiment is Crafty Secrets from the "Card Sentiments" set. I also used the SU BG Carte Postale on the purple CS lower right corner. I used the clear emboss to make it pop and then stamped my sentiment on top of that. I had to fill in a little with a .05 black journaler marker. I made this for a friend at work and she loves purple so I tried to use as much purple as I could. She also loved that designer paper and stamp set. So I knew I had to make something for her using all of the things she loves. I just love the vintage stamps. My picture is not clear I took dozens of this journal and was lucky to get a single good one. Blogger's Challenge Fridays
Each week a challenge is issued to create something and share on our blogs. This week the challenge was to create a card using the same layout as the card on page 165 of the Stampin' Up catalog. I just joined the group today and I am not sure if I will complete this challenge or just start with next weeks challenge.
Next weeks challenge is already Week 7 of Bloggers Challenge and we are supposed to Alter it. Alter anything - a frame, tin, chipboard and then post a before and after picture. This is a good topic because I have been working on altering a blank book creating a journal for a gift. I think I will use this for my submission.
The list of all the Blogger Challenge bloggers is over on the right be sure to check out their work each Friday! ------>
