Happy New Year!

I was going to wait to post this card but I was so excited about how it turned out I decided to post it early.

Merry ChrisMOOSE!

Another quick card...  This one is really cute.  I used some felt moose.  I picked up a package of these in assorted colors last year on closeout after Christmas at Borders.   I think they were 80% off.  I knew I was going to use them to create.  The sled and the sentiment are both from A*Muse Art Stamps.  I stamped the sled onto the card and then again onto a coordinating paper.  Then paperpieced it onto the card.  The holly was created by using 3 red dew drops and the holly leaves were snipped from a piece of ribbon.  I made the snow by tearing a scrap and affixing it with glue along the bottom of the card.  I always have to add some glittery shimmer to a holiday card.  This was quick and easy!

May you have warmth in your igloo, oil in your lamp, and peace in your heart.. ~Eskimo Proverb

For this card I used my A*Muse stamps Igloo, Eskimo Proverb, Heart Trio and Love Shack (stove pipe chimney).  I just love this sentiment.  It was another quick card using all things A*Muse.  I stamped the igloo, coated it with some diamond dust glitter and used my yellow Stickles for the glow of my oil lamp coming from the igloo door.  I affixed the igloo onto the card with a popdot.  I also inked just the stovepipe chimney of the Love Shack stamp to add it to the igloo.  This was a quick and fun card to make.  19 down 31 to go...

ENJOY

Rudolph the Red Nosed Polar Bear?

Woohoo two posts in one night!  I Love Frosty Nights, Snowy Days and Warm Hearts. I just love this A Muse sentiment.  Its on the inside this card.  I'm super happy with this card.  I designed and dreamed it up.  I used the A*Muse art stamp Starry Night background and Polar Bear.  I masked off an area and glittered the ground for the snow.  I paper-pieced the polar bear and popped him onto a pop dot so he was raised out from the card.  I added some bling to the starry night, a red candy to his nose, a puff-ball for his tail (fun) and tied a mix of 3 different color tiny bakers twine for a scarf around his neck.  This was a quick card.  I will probably make a few more of these because he was so cute!

EDITED TO UPLOAD THE NEWEST VERSION W/SWIRLS AND SENTIMENT ADDED.

May Your House Always be Too Small...

to Hold All of Your Friends...  I just love this A Muse sentiment.  Just a quick update today

Miss You!

As promised, here is the upload of the finished work with added bling... I used the A Muse Tiny Bee stamp, it came in really handy because I wanted to add a tiny bee to the sketch but did not have one single bee out of ALL of the trinkets I own. Of course, isn't that the way it goes?  I don't know why I hoard all of those little things like brads, embellies, glitters.  A trip to Michael's is in order, of course with a coupon ...hhhm =D

Supply Dete's:  SU: Kraft & Whisper White Cardstock, A Muse, Red Gingham Card Stock (New Release, LOVE, I bought 2 sheets in every color) from Paper Tales my favorite LSS, SU Feather Friends Stamp Set (Retired), SU Hollyhocks Wheel (I don't remember the name or if it was Foxgloves instead).  I remember I bought it because it matched with Feather Friends. Versamark-Clear Ink, SU Embossing Powder, Hero Arts Sparkle Gems.  All else SU.
Bee's Close Up

Spica Glitter Pens and also Clear Gelly Roll Pens on the bees.  Anywho, it was fun.  I am glad to be back doing something crafty.  But I know why it has taken me so long to get back to it?  EEK. It's time consuming.  I must have spent two-hours or more on the last few posts.  I remember I used to blog daily.  I think life just catches up with you sometimes.  I have been battling insomnia.  I used to be able to stay up until the wee hours of the morning doing this and go to work.  Now I'm lucky if I drag my bum to work and get through the day, energywise.  Oh some things never changes, whine whine whine. Yadayadayada.  You know that's one of my favorite past-times.
Enjoy~

My First EVER Shaker Card

Me likes...=D Using more of the NEW A Muse stamps the "Gumball" machine. How cute is that? I used the glaze pens to color in some of the gumballs. See the A Muse creative candy peaking out the dispenser? OMG so much fun.

This was quite the technique challenge as it used several from masking, paper piecing, to shaker assembly. I man-handled it a bit more than I would have liked to but I think I will make another one and improve on the neatness. I was so excited to get it put together I got a little hasty. If someone knows how to use liquid pearls without getting the little "peaks" on the pearl dot.... lemmeno....

How do you like?

CROPPED TO SHOW SOME DETAIL

It's No Secret

You know who owns a yellow VDub don't you? Scroll down on this POST. Well when A Muse came out with this stamper...I knew I had to have it! Of course it had to be yellow in this first card. Techniques of note? I used a pop dot and raised the VDub. I used A Muse creative candy hearts II for the VDub heart decals. I used those special gel pens to make the paint look glossy. Using a scrap of plastic cardstock I freehanded and cutout my OWN cloud stencil because I needed little clouds. The only cloud stencil I owned was for bigger clouds I guess and the scale was wrong so I improvised and made my own. I used liquid pearls for the exhaust dots. Isn't it cute? I like how this turned out. I may have been a little messy but my next one will be cleaner.

Love Shack's Where it's at_at!!

More fun with A Muse new releases I used "Love birds" and "Love Shack". I cut the door so it opens and have one of the little "Love birds" strutting his stuff coming out of the "Love Shack".

A Muse Love Birds

I'm getting a jump on my Valentines Day cards. It's no secret my love affair with all things A Muse. I was able to snag some of the new release stamps early at my LSS. OMG lerve. Check it out here's how they inspired me to create... I used the scalloped heart Nestability die. Then I used my paper punch to make holes all around the outside of the scalloped heart to thread the ribbon. It turned out so cute.

LOVE BIRDS

SPECIAL DELIVERY CARD

Next I masked the presents off of the "Mail Truck" stamp and then using the heart "exhaust" from the A Muse "Skywriter" stamp I made it look like the "Special Delivery" was "Hearts". Also I used the brown kitchen notes to paper piece the truck. Doesn't it look like Mr. Brown. HELLO...genius I tell ya'.

Happy Christmas Eve!

Wow where does the time go? The holidays snuck up on me again!!. Surprisingly I've actually have gotten more done "in time" than before but it feels like I didn't. I don't know the holidays always make me crazy 1 way or another. Here's more pictures of my holidays. I must say this every year... but this year my tree is the best I've ever had, the house decorations are "just right" with us just putting out our favorite things vs 8 boxes of things. It just feels more simplified and yes how appropriate to close out the year accomplishing the feel of my "word for the year". To simplify simplify simplify. I do believe I've reached it!!! I can move on to a new word and I've already picked it out. I just hope I continue to like the word I've chosen and I don't go flipflopping around again and switching my word a million times like last year.

Anyway, a couple of the new cards I am posting I CASEd from the design team members over at A Muse art stamps. My problem is it's all a blur and I can't remember exactly where I snagged these from. So I apologize for not properly crediting the sketches. I added bling and fur etc hehe but the sketches are not mine. CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO ENLARGE THEM to see the details better.

This first card was sooooo cute I just had to CASE it. The "design team" members over at A Muse are definitely doing their job because I had to run out and purchase more stamps to do this card.

A couple of techniques of note. I added the oval A Muse creative-candy sticker to the "Peace on Earth" tag. I also stamped the carolers a second time on some music note paper, cut out the sheet music and paper pieced it on top of the carolers so the sheet music looks authentic. Loves: the black kitchen note paper looks like snow falling at night, paper tearing technique makes the white paper look like snow drifts and EVERYTHING else. Oh you can't see it but the front reindeer has a red bling nose.

This next card (BELOW) I CASEd from a card I saw over at my new favoritest store EVER PAPERTALES. OMG Michelle (and everyone else... Diane and all.... I forget everyones names sorry) is such a genius over there and her store just gets better and better. Everytime I go there she has more NEW stuff and of course I h2h it ALL. They are so nice that if I ever want to CASE something on display thye make a photo copy for me. Oh and I've been informed...by the way they are my new REAL friends not VIRTUAL friends any more. I was so excited about this to have new REAL friends. I told her I didnt have any real friends... just virtual ones. Meeting Michelle and crew through blogoland first and then so meeting them IRL I had to actually remember that they're real friends now. hahahaha.

How cute is this? Techniques uses: masking to make the reindeers look layered. Of course, LOTS of glitter. Glitter is my new favoritest tool. LOVES: Toile ribbon (red). Of course I have it in every color. OH I almost forgot I FUN FLOCKED the deer antlers how funny is that.

Next card.... a mix of stamps because I didn't have the A Muse tree lot stamp so I used SU. Note the glitter on the tree. LERVE

IRL - LOVE THIS PICTURE of the bug with the tree on it.

I took all of these pics in a dark room with my night setting and it still looked liked there were lights on. I wanted to get that cool nightime effect. But alas I am NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER.

This is my little 6 in. tree sits in a corner on my counter top right next to my coffee maker. I've had this little guy for years and he brings me happiness year after year. NOTE: mini tree skirt and presents.

Some of my favorite clear fairy ornaments

Fairy number 2

Look at the white spot to the left of the tree.... my daughter says those are angels/spirits whenever you see those little white spots in photos. but look at the next photo of the tree it looks like the Angel spirit moves to the tip of my tree and becomes a glowing star... eerie huh?

See the glow (white spot that moved right) at the tip of my tree? Angel star.

Happy Holidays! Hurry up and go out there and get your last minute stuff done I know I have to. ~later

Sweet Holiday Wishes!

It's Starting to Look A Lot Like...I like to mass produce cards this time of year in order to have enough to send and share. I made six with this super cute A Muse Gingerbread Boy for starters. I trimmed/and popped one of the gingerbread people out with a pop dot. Plus I used three red creative candies for the buttons and glitter to simulate sugar shake. I used glaze gel pens on the rest of the gingerpeople to simulate icing. If you click on any picture it will enlarge for details.

These turned out sooooo cute. I used a mixture of companies from SU (my first love) paper for the base card whisper white and chocolate chip. I used nest-abilities scalloped square die for the chocolate matte. I use the new A Muse vintage red notes for the accent strip. The ribbon is from Michaels dollar bins.

Which ribbon goes better? The green and red checked?

or the red and white checked?

I think I like the green and red better. It has more the "feel" I was looking for. I didn't find that ribbon until the end. I used MS silver ink for the sentiment.

Srrrrsly

Hi everyone! I know I know... don't be mad... life's been so crazy fast and full. If it's not one thing it's another O U C H. First the garage, then the master, then the w2w carpet project, then the hubby loses his J O B thank you economy, and the co. car he had so we're down to one car, another O U C H but then the one and only car in the driveway needs work.... did I say O U C H yet? OH yes I did.... to the tune of $$$ alot I won't say how much but add this up... go ahead do the the math... no worries.... yepper I'm fine really.... 130,000 service check up, timing belt, serpentine belt, clutch and flywheel kit, water pump, thermostat, gas cap, rear view mirror (I pulled it out of the ceiling by accident on the way to a funeral, ok I was stressed and was trying to yank the rosary off the mirror H E L L O so I could use it to pray for the faithfully departed and HI thanks Mother Mary for your help). I still said my prayers but it was too late for the mirror it dangle by one electrical thread all the way. BACK TO MY STORY so needless to say S O R R Y no posting, crafting and fun. But the real reason for my post was to go ahead and give a shout out to a new PrissyPal. Yes I still had time to get a new cult member. ROFL. But if you go over and check out her new blog SassyCraftyLady (isn't that a fun name?) you will see.... yepper.... she's definitely been bit by the bug... Well it wasn't 100% true that I haven't been having any fun because I did have "Open Stamp Camp" at my place on Friday where everyone just brought their own projects to work on. I was way too tarred to take pics and I get sort of adadadhd when I'm around lots of peeps. Tina did the cupcake boxes for her first ever project and she had to do a mass production. We had a lot of fun but the night went way too fast.

We have also made a couple (or more) trips to Paper Tales because well do I really need to say WHY? If you live anywhere near the area you should really really get over to see Michelle's new store. Click on any of these links to see some of her "stock" She carries all of the latest and greatest and she is the PREMIER A Muse supplier in the area. IMHO. I never have to go anywhere else to find what I need when it comes to all things PRISSY. OMG Michelle (and Helle and Diane and Julie) are just so fun and helpful and I am sure she won't mind me snagging the graphic of the card we did for the "make and takes". Michelle just got back from SEATTLE from the A Muse launch of their new store. Hi Linda. (I met Linda at one of Paper Tales classes) and wanted to share her inspiration so she provided make and takes all week. Well we of course had to beat a path to her door to do them. See (thanks Michelle for the picture):

Well that's all my PrissyPal info for now... please stay tuned.... I will be back just like a bad penny... it always shows up

Sweet Holiday Wishes

This was a lot of fun. I CASEd the sketch from a card made in class with Scoopy (Emily) last weekend at Paper Tales but I used different stamps (same sentiment). When I saw the card I thought my little A Muse gingerbread house would be perfect for this sentiment and card sketch. I didn't have the little candycane (which I thought I SHOULD have it) but I substituted by using the piece of Candy stamp from a SU set I have called "All Wrapped Up" (retired). I really wanted to use red and white as my main colors but as I was creating silver came to mind. I really really like how this turned out. It's kind of sweet. It's really simple but sweet. But hey isn't that what A Muse is all about "thinking simple"? I stamped the A Muse gingerbread house using SU Real Red Craft Ink, I used Silver Stickles for the Candy stamp and the edge of the Oval Scallop (Marvy Uchida)

Christmas in Jay U of L Y

I'm copy-ing and sharing with everyone. I saw this card on one of the A Muse Designers sites and knew immediately it had to be one of my Christmas Cards this year. So I got started on them right away. I try to make all of my cards and that usually totals approximately 50-60. I made 5 of these so far and will probably make 10 total of this design. Last year I used 5 different designs and made approx. 10 of ea design. I was last minute lizzy last year so hopefully since I've gotten bit by the AMAP creative bug maybe I will have them done in JULY this year. Wow not that would be impressive. The source card used the sentiment (which I will do later) "On Earth Peace" but I had this other A Muse Sentiment "May Peace be with you" and thought it was poyfect. I just love blue and white. I love the maidera (sp) notecards from A Muse. I love the newest background stamp matching the print on the cardstock. I love the transparency of the peace dove flying off of the background image. This card was just so peaceful to me I had to have it. Did I tell ya I loved it? Enjoy~~

Post Script: the ribbon although vintage really IS NOT DIRTY. It's just the way the camera aka me shot the picture. IRL it's a really pretty off white. Not dishwater grey. It is very old ribbon. I snagged it at a gsale last year and finally quit hoarding it. hahaha

July 13, 2008

Have a Cozy Christmas

More A Muse fun. When I saw the newest A Muse Alpine Hut stamp this scene and these colors popped into my head. It's always so amazing when you see an idea materialize on paper (as it were). ROFL. I used the new A Muse 4 Bar Vintage Orange for the card base, the olive colored kitchen notes. I used misc ribbons to match the color scheme. I also used SU only orange card stock. Liquid appliqué for the snow of course and tons of SU dazzling diamonds glitter. I pretended that the ski hat in the store window was actually a light and I drew lightbeams shining onto the ski equipment. Click on the picture to see it up close.

Enjoy and have fun!

Emily (Scoopy) if you are reading this yes, I AM taking your class on Saturday and so is PR!SSy Pal Allison. We are taking the 10-12 a.m. class the first one of the day. Saltbox Love

Another really quickie post... I just love my new Saltbox Studio stamps sets.... I finally got to use some of them from the Sheep set. I CASEd this card entirely but I can't wait to design some originals too. I added a little this and that to mine...I used white fun fluff on the sheep, some bling in the flower centers and the stitching along the grass is faux stitching ie a black marker. I love this card and the sentiment. I have it sitting on my desk in plain view where I can be reminded of this beautiful sentiment. Always brings peace to my heart. Lambs and sheep are so gentle anyway.

Simple Pleasures are Meant to be Shared

Super sweet card I CASEd in it's entirety... this blog header was the reason why I just purchased almost every Saltbox Stamp set offered. Oopsie "my b" (I've been wanting to use that in a sentence forever). Well I h2h those blueberry muffins. I just did. Sorry. Oh I added a technique by stamping the image onto the red checked pattern paper to make the basket napkin. OMG just love love these colors and new sets from Saltbox Studio. A new company that A Muse is the exclusive manufacturer for. How cool is that?

My Mother the Convert

Ok I think I have successfully converted my mother to the cult of paper crafting. hehe. I must say she's done really well. These are all of her cards that she made. She picked out everything for them. From the stamps, ribbon, sentiments. Ok I got her started with the sketch, embossing and die cutting. The rest was all her. I love the bee mine. How cute is that? Love the non traditional colors on that one too. Just a quick post tonight I might update the deets later. Somebody has to be blogging this week seems how EVERYBODY ELSE AND THEIR NEIGHBOR IS AT CHA. That's allright really I'm fine... no problem... I didn't really need to go to THAT.... bitter party of one your table is ready.
