One Year Ten Months and...

Hello, M!ss Pr!ssy here...

I seriously cannot believe that it's been exactly one year and ten months since I've done a blog post. Wow!!  Well, I'm posting something tonight because I actually have something to post.  I went onto Pinterest to see if I could get inspired and sure enough I did.  I don't know how long this stamp company has been around but they are a new favorite of mine.  It's called Mama Elephant and they have some kahute images.  When I saw these little Mama Bears I just had to have them.  I'm hoping to get the lead out or dust off the cobwebs and start posting again on a regular basis.  I think life just gets in the way sometimes and I hit a wall energy-wise as well.  I used to come home from work practically every evening and work into the night on something crafty and then all weekend too. Well, since my last post way back in June 2013 that has not been happening.  I pretty much work, sleep and work and sleep.   Wash, rinse and repeat.

Here's to getting my MAGIC back!  A little magic can take you a long way!!

This card was made with inspiration from ---> here.  For the card base I used Stampin Up black cardstock.  The card face I used watercolor paper, an ombre watercolor technique and Stampin Up white embossing powder for the sentiment.

I have to say it was alot of fun dusting off some of my old supplies.  I had to find where I put them and squirrled away. Everytime I opened a new drawer looking for a supply it was like Christmas.  I used to have a room dedicated to crafting but have since had to downsize my ENTIRE CRAFTY AREA (see before and after pics to my previous craftroom redo) to 1/2 of a closet and a folding table at the end of my bed in my bedroom.  I know SCANDALOUS.  A guest bedroom became more important, and priorities change.  I'm not bitter.  Remember this beautiful set-up?

An entire room

Two Ikea Expedit Units

Just filled with my wonderful supplies

Well that didn't last long before the precious real estate had to be reclaimed to a guest room  Try and picture ALL OF THE ABOVE now resides in 1/2 of a wall-length closet.  I think I know where my mojo went.

Cheers!
M!ss Pr!ssy

Srrrrsly

Hi everyone! I know I know... don't be mad... life's been so crazy fast and full. If it's not one thing it's another O U C H. First the garage, then the master, then the w2w carpet project, then the hubby loses his J O B thank you economy, and the co. car he had so we're down to one car, another O U C H but then the one and only car in the driveway needs work.... did I say O U C H yet? OH yes I did.... to the tune of $$$ alot I won't say how much but add this up... go ahead do the the math... no worries.... yepper I'm fine really.... 130,000 service check up, timing belt, serpentine belt, clutch and flywheel kit, water pump, thermostat, gas cap, rear view mirror (I pulled it out of the ceiling by accident on the way to a funeral, ok I was stressed and was trying to yank the rosary off the mirror H E L L O so I could use it to pray for the faithfully departed and HI thanks Mother Mary for your help). I still said my prayers but it was too late for the mirror it dangle by one electrical thread all the way. BACK TO MY STORY so needless to say S O R R Y no posting, crafting and fun. But the real reason for my post was to go ahead and give a shout out to a new PrissyPal. Yes I still had time to get a new cult member. ROFL. But if you go over and check out her new blog SassyCraftyLady (isn't that a fun name?) you will see.... yepper.... she's definitely been bit by the bug... Well it wasn't 100% true that I haven't been having any fun because I did have "Open Stamp Camp" at my place on Friday where everyone just brought their own projects to work on. I was way too tarred to take pics and I get sort of adadadhd when I'm around lots of peeps. Tina did the cupcake boxes for her first ever project and she had to do a mass production. We had a lot of fun but the night went way too fast.

We have also made a couple (or more) trips to Paper Tales because well do I really need to say WHY? If you live anywhere near the area you should really really get over to see Michelle's new store. Click on any of these links to see some of her "stock" She carries all of the latest and greatest and she is the PREMIER A Muse supplier in the area. IMHO. I never have to go anywhere else to find what I need when it comes to all things PRISSY. OMG Michelle (and Helle and Diane and Julie) are just so fun and helpful and I am sure she won't mind me snagging the graphic of the card we did for the "make and takes". Michelle just got back from SEATTLE from the A Muse launch of their new store. Hi Linda. (I met Linda at one of Paper Tales classes) and wanted to share her inspiration so she provided make and takes all week. Well we of course had to beat a path to her door to do them. See (thanks Michelle for the picture):

Well that's all my PrissyPal info for now... please stay tuned.... I will be back just like a bad penny... it always shows up

Sidenote

I went to the dermatologist today. Just a routine check up but I had a whole body check. It wasn't too painful for me to strip down to my undies in front of a total stranger and put a gown on(eek I'm glad doctors don't die of fright). My daughter is a massage therapist and she was treating me to a massage for a b'day gift for me a couple of months ago and she noticed a couple of moles she recommended I get checked out. They are trained to look for stuff like this during massage. Well that was a couple of months ago but I made an appointment right away. It took me 2.5 months to get in but the day finally arrived for my appointment and I kept it (faithfully I can easily flake on dr.'s appointments). I checked out fine. They even check your scalp for you. I had several frozen off (all on my back) and I had 2 removed that required shot and cutting. They didn't hurt too bad. He wasn't worried about any of them but of course will send them to the lab for diagnosis. Why do I discuss? Just another PSA for all my prissy pals out in blogoland if you haven't had your full body skin exam make your appointments today. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Wear your sunscreen!! Melanoma is such a deadly cancer don't let it get you. OH a happy side note. You know my doctor was like 25 they all are these days they keep getting younger and I keep getting older. Well he asked me what year I was born in almost as if he was doing a double take. Now mind you he already read the chart and I had to write down my DOB several times on different forms so he already knew my DOB. So I told him 1958 and I said YEAH that makes me FIFTY YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT. Yep that's exactly what I said. He says no not at all in fact he says you look so young I can't believe that you were born in 1958. Now this was right after he examined my face with a magnifier light and everything. Then he proceeds to say but you probably get that all the time don't you. NO really. So either he was just trying to be nice or he's blind but either way it made my day after that. I asked him if I needed stitches on the two that her cut off and he said no he would use a laser to cauterize to stop the bleeding. I had to laugh I said hey can you stop the bleeding in my life with that thing too? Can you imagine? When your life is a train wreck and it's heading for the ditch (bleeding all over the place) just grab the laser cauterizing gun and zap the shit out of it. Do ya think that would work? That was the random thought I had when he said he was going to laser cauterize me. He didn't get my sense of humor but then again I didn't really care. The nurse during intake was asking me a series of routine questions and she asked me if I ever had a reaction to topical numbing agents (aka shots) my response yes, loud screaming. Well it is a reaction but alas I think she meant allergic reaction.

MIA

I must admit I've been out of commissions of sorts... I've caught a nasty bug and I've been sick since Saturday. Well it started Saturday and gradual got worse as the days went on. Monday and Tuesday by far being the worst days yet. Just when I thought I was turning a corner the headache set in. I went into work on Monday for part of the day left early and have been off Tues and Wed. (today). I don't plan on going in today either because it appears I need one more day to recoup. =C. I don't like it. You always know it's really bad when you have ALL of this extra time off and you can't even do anything crafty because your head is going to explode if you lift it off your pillow. I haven't had a whine post in a while you've got to admit....I've been pretty positive....I guess I was due.

My Mojo is so gone

Does anyone else have that problem of turning on the creative juices and off again when ya have to work. I work in a very left brain position and the right brain gets stuck when I have to stop and start so much. Sometimes I come into my craft studio after work and I just sit here like a lump staring at all my fun toys but draw a blank on any ideas. It's been happening since Saturday big time. It's very depressing. HELP. Post script: Well I didn't have much creativity to begin with anyway...so maybe that's part of the problem. I'm not that creative anyway. I was so depressed about my slump I even thought of giving all of my stuff away or selling it or something because I don't deserve it if I'm not using it. Ack!!!

My Mother the Convert

Ok I think I have successfully converted my mother to the cult of paper crafting. hehe. I must say she's done really well. These are all of her cards that she made. She picked out everything for them. From the stamps, ribbon, sentiments. Ok I got her started with the sketch, embossing and die cutting. The rest was all her. I love the bee mine. How cute is that? Love the non traditional colors on that one too. Just a quick post tonight I might update the deets later. Somebody has to be blogging this week seems how EVERYBODY ELSE AND THEIR NEIGHBOR IS AT CHA. That's allright really I'm fine... no problem... I didn't really need to go to THAT.... bitter party of one your table is ready.

Fairy Love

This card took waaaaaaay longer than it ever needed to. It's also not my usual style in that I'm a less is more kind of gal. I had quite a few happy accidents with this card and I think that is why it took me almost 2 days to finish. Yikes and I am not sure if it works even yet. Oh well they aren't always gonna be perfect. The Crafty Secrets Fairy had my name on it again and I just love her so much. This time I wanted it to look like she was perched upon an unfolding flower. The card catalog card was supposed to say author: fate; title: love; borrower: cupid. BUT because of a couple of glue errors and ink errors I had to cover my original intentions with the CS love stamps (which I L O V E) and a couple of punched out heart shapes. I also used the doodle set from SU. I stamped the flower from the SU doodle set with stazon and white embossing powder on vellum. Another "happy accident" because the first time I stamped it I messed up the glitter. So I made a bunch of extra leaves to layer over the original stamp. Then I had stamped and masked the entire focal image on one layer of card and air brushed the background. The background was too dark so I cut out the focal point and hence the layers. I telling you it was one mess after another. Anyway, this is the finished product. Whew. Next time maybe easier? It's pretty but it's awfully thick for a card. Have I mentioned that stickles are my new favorite tool? I love stickles I have some in every color now. Where have I been?

OMG 13 days since my last blog post

I still have nothing to report. I have had a headache for 2 days now. My lovely mother is visiting and I think the holiday let down and being back to work after a 2 week vacation has just put a screeching halt on my creating and art flow. I am very upset about this. I am finding the stop and start... stop and start very hard when it comes to creating. I lose my momentum and my mojo. I took my mom to my LSS today and she really enjoyed it. She was attracted to an altered book sample they had on the counter for an upcoming class. Here's one of the pics:

It made me happy that she showed an interest because she doesn't do anything arty and I have been trying to suggest she do some scrap booking. But she didn't "get it"... When she saw the altered book (I had been trying to explain mixed media to her) she got it. Art has brought so much to my life I just think it would be an excellent pastime for her. I would love for her to enjoy it too. I think I saw a tiny aha moment in my mother's eyes today so I'm excited about this. Anyway, back to me whining.... OH we also went to Barnes and Nobel and I found THIS. OMG maybe we should table the whining for a minute. I picked up Betz White's new book called "Warm Fuzzies" I have never done any felting but I love the look. Hehe but I just h2h it.

I guess I did have something to post after all. I'm so moody. Geesh. This reminded me I also bought my mother a couple of Somerset magazines and I picked up the new Papercraft magazine. What am I moaning about? I think I will go read my new stuff. Hey I said I had a headache I'm not thinking so straight today. Hopefully I'll create soon. Thanks for listening.

Cards Cards Cards

I've decided to post a collage (click on the collage image to zoom in) of all of the cards I've sent out this year. There are just too many to post individually. But first a thought... Ya know I've noticed as I am sure everyone else has too that cards appear to be a fading tradition. I normally send approximately 40 +- cards each holiday season. I even feel this is a low number as I've known people that send out a hundred plus. But anyway for me that seems to be my rolodex. The past couple of years I have received approx. 12 cards give or take a few. It's not that I am "hinting" for more cards and I certainly don't give cards just to receive more cards back. I enjoy sending cards, ok I love sending cards out. I was just thinking how I send out cards faithfully every year even to those who don't return the cheer. Not only do I send them I MAKE them all individually by hand. A lot of thought goes into my cards obviously. So I guess it just hurts me a bit when I run to the mailbox during the holidays and there is a market mailer but no cards. I might as well have a lump of coal in there. Well you all know I like to whine so I guess I couldn't get through the holidays without at least one little bitty whine. OMG I just noticed it's 2 a.m. I got lost in my art studio once again!!! Yes, I was finishing up a few late cards (ok better late than NEVER). Believe it or not it IS still the holiday season and doesn't end until January 6th (Three kings day and also the 12th day of Christmas) So technically I am not late. Anyway, what's up with the fading tradition of exchanging cards? I know email and the internet has something to do with it but I think we should revolt.

Quickie Ornaments

I thought I'd like these more...They aren't blurry IRL. The photographs surprise again are so blurry. These were simple and somewhat quick but they are too plain IMHO. I thought I would post them anyway to see what Michelle thought. Seems how I only have one visitor EVER which is my friend Michelle. Michelle and I joke all the time only one person reads our blogs each other....we each only have one visitor a day. ROFL EDITED TO ADD: I mean I really do have a lame blog. So I am not hurt or in shock that I don't REALLY have all that many virtual PRISSY PALS. I'm really not. I don't do anything except post my cards. It's not like I provide a service, or do tutorials or sell stuff on sale or even come up with an original thought. Guess how many design teams I'm on? Yep you guessed that right....ZERO. I mean I practically CASE everything I do. I'm a complete and total amateur and I'm alright with that. It is just one boring yadayadaya post after another. I mean who cares? I just had to add that... I like talking to myself apparently. I mean I leave the longest voicemails. Ya know I like talking to air TOO apparently. hahahhahahahaha. Hi Michelle. hehe. I mean take my challenge for example that I posted earlier this month. The challenge was to use the colors and sketch in that post and then backlink. Well there were 2 backlinks of a participant. Guess who? Michelle...she played twice.... GOSH if it weren't for Michelle I'd have NO friends at all. Did you know that Michelle's favorite color is purple? Yep random fact I know...but it is...

Ok I'm gonna go eat worms. ciao.

Your stomach shouldn't be a waste basket

I think it is so funny that today's quote is Your Stomach Shouldn't be a Waste Basket after I just got over the stomach virus. See it's stalking me... Maybe it links up through keywords because it's too ironic that it keeps cycling topics that are 100% related to my recent posts? It's scary how much a computer "acts" like it's a real living breathing entity. I swear there really are aliens. Freaky. NEWay it appears from the evidence that it wasn't food poisoning although it acted like food poisoning because there were others at work that had the exact same thing I had and even did end up at urgent care. I tell ya it was that nasty. I thought for sure I would die. It lasts about 4 days. The doctor's said this was the stomach virus going around. I went back to work 1 day too early too because I was sure salty that first day back. I snapped at the first half dozen or so persons that even dared show their face in my pod that morning. It wadn't purty. The first guy that came in says sarcastically to me, "good morning sunshine" I leered back at him and said GET OUT just GET OUT OF MY POD. In my best linda blair voice ever? Then the next person asked me for help and when I tried to help this person she went into a weird female-ish insecure reaction and clammed up and didn't want my help but continued to try and waste my time so I cut the tutorial short and said in a VERY curt tone... you know where I sit, if you still want my help, come and get me...then I turned heal and walked out all while signing the peace out sign with my fingers (yes it really was peace out and not a bird symbol). OMG it didn't level out until 1ish in the afternoon. I should have just stayed home. But today I was 100% I cannot tell you how good that felt. I woke up this a.m. and it literally was night and day. So I spent the better part of today apologizing for my bad self yesterday. Even though I really had fun with it because I actually enjoy being a @#^$% now. I just do. I think it's a finely honed art form and acquired taste and skill and everybody loves it soooo much. It goes right along with my joy of whining. hehe ;D HEY it's my right as a woman of substance and I own it. The whole point to my post? I picked up a new tempurpedicish mattress pad (costco) and I can't wait to try it out. I wake up every morning just about in severe pain. I don't know what it is but it sure hurts a lot so I am going to give this a try and I am crossing my fingers I will get a good nights sleep tonight. I'll let you know. Maybe I should post something about winning the lottery? How's that for a key word. OH I might delete the post about evil doll because one of my prissy pals had a nightmare after reading my blog and she hates evil doll. I had to laugh. It sure has been a unfortunate week. Maybe she has a point. I'm deleting it now. doodoodoodoododoo insert twilight zone music here.

I'm a Rock Star?

EDITED TO ADD: I ONLY HAVE 220 BLOG POSTS TO READ...YOU GALS ARE BUSY

Woohoo I'm back up. I only had cross words with one tech support guy. Why is it they want to charge you a contract fee for every minor question asked? OMG people get your heads out of your arses and THINK. That's all I want. Is that asking too much? Seriously. One simple little word THINK. Ok.... I'm over it with a Capitol "O". I could go on and on but I won't. I just wanted to update blogoland and let y'all in on the good news bad news. Good news I am up and running smoother than ever, bad news I am sure I lost something in translation. Oh well oopsie. I had backed up everything last month when my computer first started running slow and I knew something was up??? GUESS WHAT can't find the picture back up CDs. I threw them somewhere in haste and in the ditch and dash of the fires, cleaning out the garage and office, seasonal change out YEPPER they are missing. OMG I hope they weren't thrown out in a stack of papers or some such. I went through every last CD in this house and I can't find them. That was another chore and a half. Sometimes I think my life is in a perpetual state of MESS. I'm really really weally a very organized person but if you looked at my house you would say errrr NOT. It is so maddening to say the least but sometimes I feel like I am shoveling snow and it's still snowing in my mess. The problem is I've downsized and although the residence was a bit of a downsize the contents weren't. I thought I did but I guess not. I do digress. The whole point to this post was to get back on track. I completely wiped out my hard drive and did a fresh reinstall of everything. OF course it takes days. All the drivers weren't recognized and of course one of those was the network driver. Which meant no internet, which meant no downloads to correct said problem. I also had no video or audio drivers? What's up with that I had all of my original CDs? ack it's maddening. Love em hate em type of thing with these wonders (computers). Some things I forgot to backup? My Outlook .pst folder NICE, a few key folders on my desktop HELLO ALL OF MY BLOGGING STAMPING STUFF. Ya know what... maybe I need a fresh start. I don't have 1000 emails in my inbox I need to sort through. I had a lot of emails with pertinent logon/passwords saved in folders. Oh well again. It will take some more tweaking to set all of the configs again and download all of the most current updates to my programs. But yay I've got the bulk of it done. Now back to work tomorrow. I took today off as an addtional day of recoup. I was still a bit weak with the "greens". I told you I like to whine. See?

DREADED BLUE SCREEN

Ok so what's next from my black and blue foot, green face and NOW BLUE SCREEN. I don't know what is going on but some bad mojo or sumpin'? I finally had to do it.,.. I completely blanked out my hard drive and reinstalled everything from scratch. My computer has been acting up for some time now and thankfully I backup last month or so but now I lost modem drivers so no internet. I need to get a modem driver cd from the store and they do not open until tomorrow. I am using my daughters computer in the other room until then. wa wa wa. Not much else very cheerful to post. bleh.

Firemen Paramedics in the house!!!

Ok so call me a baby but I didn't feel very well since yesterday. I am not taking illness too well these days. I came down with one of the worst case of food poisoning? or flu? ever.

It hit me so suddenly too. Anyway, by last night, a call to "911" was in order. I thought I should go to the hospital but I couldn't move myself because I was soooo weak.

At any rate it was a false alarm because once they got there and checked me out they recommend I stay put.... as they said, everyone will have diarrhea and vomiting one time in their life or another. I think they basically were calling me a drama queen.

It was a sight to behold. I had 5 a my favorite men in uniform in my room. Picture me in my pj's tears streaming down my face (I looked like hell too) all the sudden I perk up and sit up and I say, "OMG I just realized I have 5 a my favorite men in uniform in my room, I must have died and gone to heaven" Picture 5 burly firemen with hats clench at waist, heads down, kicking there feet back and forth, with that "aw shucks maam" look on there face. My daughter is like MOTHER how embarrasing. Then she must be what menopause does to you! I did feel better after seeing them. It was so worth the false alarm. I might call them again tonight just so I can have them over. hehe. Anyway, I think I have turned the corner as far as how bad I feel. Just some leftover chills, fever and headache, everything else seems to have subsided.

I hope to be back stamping soon. I can't believe my whole weekend has been a waste on this. I guess it's just natures way of telling me I need some rest... I sure did get some.

Warning - Weak stomaches need not look further - sore foot alert!!

Ok this post is seriously in bad taste. I admit that. However I do have family and friends long distance who read my blog and I told them I needed to show them a picture of my foot of which I am not sure if I broke it or not. Normally I would not post something like this as it is WAY TMI. So look away now if you are queasy it ain't pretty folks. As a side note it is becoming well established in my circle of just how clumsy I truly am. Ok so this picture to follow is just more evidence for the case I am building against myself regarding clumsiness. The night before yes just last night I almost drowned in the pool literally without taking a single stroke. How does someone DO THAT you ask? HOW? Do not know. I lost my balance in the pool in a medium aka water where you are supposed to be bouyant???? Nope not so much. But that folks is another story for the blog of which I will not go into tonight. Trust me it was ridiculous. Drown in a pool and you haven't left the dock whatever. Without further ado....drum roll....sad eyes....pity party assembled, check....OH a little sidenote trivia....how pray tell did I manage this feat (pun intended)? The irony of it all.....I dropped a bowflex attachment in a freak sort of way on my foot while trying to hide it in my closet when I was having unexpected company...YES FOLKS YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT DEATH BY BOWFLEX.....IRONIC I SAY...OH one more side note of much more importance than the bruising....note the color coordinated toe nails in fall colors AND the pretty little sunflower I designed on my toe. ISNT IT CUTE I EMBELLISHED MY TOE HAHAHAHAHAHA. To all a good night =D

I'm a PACK RAT

There I said it. As Dr. Phil says... you can't change what you don't acknowledge??? NOOOOOOOO....Pack rats build complex nests of paper, ribbon, ink, stamps and scraps er oh I meant .....twigs, called "middens", often incorporating staples er oh I meant....cactus. Nests often create small oh I meant are built in small caves, but frequently also in the attics and walls of houses (exactly).

One question? Does that surprise ANY of the other paper crafters out there? OMG one thing always leads to another when it comes to cleaning and organizing and for some reason around this time of year simple due to the holiday change out of Tday to Christmas my DH and I always end up cleaning out the garage. What's up with that? I just needed to whine and we all know how missprissme LOVES to whine. Thanks. There was another reason for this post of which has escaped me now but I will come back and edit when I recall exactly what it was that I was thinking about. Now back to the dust....

Mammo Update

This should probably more likely be the tip of the century....did you know if breast cancer is caught early it is 100% curable. Yep that's right 100%. Wow. I really hate to keep harping on my happy place blog about this crap but I might as well finish with my updates and then I promise I won't mention it AGAIN. I seriously know it is bordering on TMI. I think I am OK. I mean they came in the room and said I was finished. The last two times the doctor came in and asked me for more tests. This time the technician left the room to show the doctor my films and came back and said I could go. So I don't know if that meant the doctor has read the films and it's ok you can go or that ok you can go for now and we'll call you once the doctor has read the films? Of course I am so frazzled when I am in there, I don't think fast on my feet, all reason escapes me and I just leave with that deer in the headlights look on my face. SO I decided NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS and I am going to assume that I'M GOOD FOR ANOTHER YEAR unless I hear otherwise. Thanks everyone for being there for me and your kind comments of support. They really really help. Now I really have something to be thankful for tomorrow and I am going to toast to good health for sure!!!!

Microcalcifications? Whatever

Y'all know how I love to whine so here goes...

From breastcancer.org

DEFINITION:

Calcifications
Calcifications are tiny flecks of calcium — like grains of salt — in the soft tissue of the breast that can sometimes indicate the presence of an early breast cancer. Calcifications usually can't be felt, but they appear on a mammogram. Depending on how they're clustered and their shape, size, and number, your doctor may want to do further tests. Big calcifications — "macrocalcifications" — are usually not associated with cancer. Groups of small calcifications huddled together, called "clusters of microcalcifications," are associated with extra breast cell activity. Most of the time this is non-cancerous extra cell growth, but sometimes clusters of microcalcifications can occur in areas of early cancer.

and so off we go for another magnification mammo this time. They want to take a closer look see. OF COURSE THEY DO.

Ultra sound update

In case anyone cares my breast ultrasound (US) signified further testing required ....bleh...stay tuned...Ok that was the short version. As you all know I did my due diligence and got my mammogram for October seems how it was awareness month. So ONE THING ALWAYS LEADS TO ANOTHER WITH THOSE WITCH (pattern? witch doctor witch fire) DOCTORS. I needed a breast diagnostic US to follow up the mammo findings. They never used the word suspicious in my mammo report which apparently was a good thing. Well they aren't going to read my US report until they get my prior mammo pics which haven't arrived yet. A comparison is in order of the two mammo's plus the US. Then they will be able to give me next steps.
