Don't Peek ;D...ATC Zone

Don't look now if you are in the latest Durcan Designs ATC swap and don't want to see them yet. Mine are in the mail and thought I'd post mine. (Click on any picture to enlarge for detail) Very simple design using one of my favorite sentiments from Hampton Arts. I wanted it to look like a little picture frame so I added the string for hanging. Hopefully it can be hung lovingly in art studios across the globe.... well that's lofty.... I embossed the A in Art with gold embossing powder and also used Crystal Effects to make it 3-d and to pop. I also sponged in 2-colors for my ink. I used some of my favorite dsp from Basic Grey, Recess, 6x6 pad. The stamp is from Hampton Arts but I don't think it is available anymore. I purchased mine off of e-bay a while back. I hope you like and I also hope the swappers like it too. I can't wait to see what everyone else has done. This is my second swap with Tracy and all of the ATCs from the first swap were such high quality and so cute. You can't tell but there is blue in these too.

Don't Peek ;D...

...if you are a part of Durcan Design's ATC swap and you don't want to see my submission. (click on any photo to enlarge for details) LOL I just love how these turned out. I decided to use some of the new JJ stamps that I just got for my birthday, see this post. The swap was no vendor restrictions and with at least 2 layers. I had fun making these and I learned something new too. Using JJ Chef Bella I wanted to incorporate the vintage colors red, turquoise and black. Just love that color combo. I wanted to use a white on black base and I just didn't have the pattern paper I was looking for. GO FIGURE! So duh lightbulb went off and I decided to use one of my SU backgrounders (the paisley print) on black cs with white craft ink. So using my brayer I stamped the black cs with white craft ink. It turned out to be just what I was looking for. I learned that white craft ink stamped on black card stock is B E A U T I F U L! Will definitely be using it again. I stamped Chef Bella with a permanent black ink, colored her shirt with a turquoise su marker to give it the vintage apron feel. I was also very happy to use some of my scrap ribbon. I just love my little "ribbon bursts" that I created by using 4 different ribbons to create the bow. I also used liquid appliqué for the chef hat. Sorry for the blurriness of the photos. I think my camera is on it's last leg. Enjoy...misspriss~

A Moment of silence please!!

I stamped. I created. Yowser. Please forgive the angle on this photo. I took the photo a half dozen times and could NOT get the light/focus ANYTHING right. This was the clearest shot... it is what it is. I used some of my newest stamp images from yes, (insert another head bow) none other that Elzybell. Having 2 little girls myself (ok so what if they are 27 and 25 y.o. NOW) I have always loved "little girl" images. This image is called "A Winter Song". These are the new stamps manufactured in North America by A*Muse. Can you say I LOVE them? I also used my nestability dies and embossing plates from Spellbinders. The base is an altered Mary Englebreit 3x3 notecard (10 pack w/envelopes) that I found in the $1 bin at Michaels. I just matted over the original image (cute as it was I just wanted to use the card stock). The minute I saw this image I pictured her in a little plaid coat. I stamped the image on some DP that had the plaid print that I wanted and then cut it out and glued it over the primary image. I wish I had some of that white stuff that puffs up like snow. I don't even know what that is. I bought some souffle pens and thought they were supposed to do this but they don't. I used Copic glitter pens for the snow and the bird. I think it could use some more glitter.

Have a Dandy Day Xs 8

Here is the group of my ATCs all finished. Yes there are only 7 in this picture but only because I forgot one, it's on the side of the picture. I added dazzling diamond to the sun. When I had finished these I thought they needed a little something more so that is where the glitter comes in. I also experimented with the ribbon. Some I tied and some I stapled. I just love the plain staple for an embellishment. ~best

~Have a Dandy Day ATC Swap

I just wanted to get a quick upload before the weekend was entirely over. This is another ATC sized card for a new swap I joined. I need to make 8 I think I have 3 done? I think there may be way too much stuff going on in such a small space... but oh what the heck this is art. I get to do what I want to, right? hehe. I also think that the sun may be too large in scale for the piece but I needed to cover the original sentiment from "Have a DandyLion of a Day" to "Have a Dandy Day". So that's how I did it. More dete's later. The tractor, cart and flowers are all raised up on a foam spot (SU) but you can't tell that in the picture very well. Everything else is 1-D. For now gtg. I hope you like! I think it's cute. New DETEs. I finally got all 8 new ATCs done. I really enjoyed it and as soon as my camera is charged and ready I want to take a pic of the group and post it. If you can believe it I used 6 different stamps for this little bitty ATC. There are a couple of techniques of note. I used the A Muse sentiment "Have a Dandy Lion of a day" as stated earlier, masked off with the sun to shorten the sentiment. I used the A Muse fence, tractor and (this is the surprise) the welcome mat stamp. If you look at the grass closely you will see the masked A Muse welcome mat stamp to make a grassy field. I used post it notes to mask off the parts I didn't want. All paper and accessories are SU and the little word "day" is papertreyinks word set. I made the little cart using SU "Happy for You" from the taggers dozen set. I simply used my .05 black ink marker to connect the tractor and the cart. I also used SU dazzling diamonds on the sun (not pictured here)
