Dreams

WOW just when I didn't think it was possible? I've found a new F A V O R I T E stamp set. Just got my new Crafty Secrets "Sweet Kids" set in the mail today!! And I gotta tell ya'...I'm in L O V E. I used this sketch I saw over on Crafty Secrets Blog provided by MishMash. I punched little paper flowers (scroll down in this post to see the punch I used)out for her bonnet and put a tiny sparkle in the center of each flower. I think if you click on the pic it will enlarge for the detail. NOTE TO SELF: Don't run a 3-D creation through your cuttlebug. Yep I had the flowers and creative candy gems on the hat and decided to scallop the white matte. So I ran it through the cuttlebug and yepper you guess it flat flowers and even flatter bling. Yes, those little creative candy gems smash flat as a pancake too. I had to laugh. I scraped it off with my exacto knife and redid the pretty little paper flowers.

Enjoy~

A Hoppy Sketch Challenge

Nothing like a good mail day (see Ellen Hutson's SOTM, that's Stamp of the Month) and Kitchen Sink stamps (3 step honey bunny-more designs to come using this set so cute) to wrastle me out of a funk and a friendly challenge. Thanks to my PR!SSy cyberpal Anna Wight and a great sketch that I could CASE (that's copy and share with everyone for those of you who live under a rock in PR!SSyland and DON'T know what that means!). I've purchased tons of items over at Ellen' s webstore but never the whole kit'nkaboodle stamp of the month. I mean at the minimum I could justify the stamp because lardy knows I have enough of my own paper and ribbon and such. Never could I justify the entire kit. Well this month I decided to live dangerously and yepper I bought the whole kit'nkaboodle. It came with the Lockhart chocolate spotted folk bunny (so folkartish love it), a 10-pack of memory box cotton candy pink cardstock w/envies, the new 6x6 memory box sprout paper pack oh and some chocolate ribbon and few OTHER items. I mean sriously you can check it out via the link I have provided I don't REALLY need to gush over the dete's. Anyhow as you can see I grabbed some inspiration from everywhere tonight and what fun it was.... enjoy!

Here's Annas sketch for the challenge:

Here's my submission (oops now that I look at it side by side I should have made the green matte a little wider on all sides.... phewy...:

Why?

Ok this is just gonna be a short blab. Why do I have to have entire sets of things? I just got the "complete"

and the "bonus pak"

of these.

Why? you ask. Good question!!. Now if I could just learn how to watercolor. Seriously, I just got a wee promo and pay increase and I have had these on my wish list for 2 years. So I decided to treat myself. Yay. But now that they arrived I was thinking Why DO I have to have entire sets of things?

Sisters are Great! Both IRL and Cyber PRISSy Sisters

Hear ye' hear ye' good mail day in the house. Lookie what I got in the mail recently from my in real life (IRL) sister Kay? My sister sent me this exceptionally cute Autumn card. I am pretty sure that the stamps are from "Close to my Heart" as this is the co. that she is involved with. It's so cute I just wanted to share it and send a big thank you back to my sister for making it for me.

AND I wanted to take this opportunity to share this card and to shout out another quick HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my new cyber-sis Vickie over at "This Art that makes me Happy". (No Vicki I am not stalking you ;D). I really am just wishing you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY girlfriend. ROFL. Unless you think I am your number one S_tamp TALKER which then of course in stampspeak I am your S_Talker. Cause I like to Talk Stamps. Hey I'm just kidding ok? I like to talk stamps that's it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY I hope you had a great day!

Funny story about my IRL sister: She introduced me to stamping a couple of years ago before I "got it" ;D. I remember I was visiting her house near Springfield, MO and she showing me her little craft room and this box of stamps, inks, papers. I remember saying OMGosh what do you do with all of those stamps?? I couldn't get into that!!!! I'd get way too confused. I wouldn't know where to start. I just shook my head and hung it down in disbelief. Feeling a tad sorry for my sister thinking she must be obsessed. Well I must be a hands on person because fast forward a couple of years I was invited to a SU 10/10 card class from a co-worker. I thought. Why not sounds like fun. 10 cards for $10. That's pretty reasonable and I could always stock up on some cards for later. I instantly "got it" as I made cards (hands on) at my first card class and the rest.... as they say is history. Now my sister views my blog and crafty space pics that I've posted on my blog and she just shakes her head and hangs in disbelief right back at me. I just can't wait if she ever visits so I can show off my stuff and play together with her. Now that I "get it" ROFL.

Entre' the Confessional

Seriously I have a problem.

I just HAD to order the GHIA nestibles (ok so that's not spelled right but that's what I call it) set from over at Ellen Hutson store over the weekend

AND of course then there was the dreaded Papertey Inks NEW RELEASES of which I ordered THREE items, Believe, Holiday Treats and the clear boxes...

WHAT ELSE LET ME SEE....um I think that's it

EDITED TO ADD: I was in an internet shopping coma I DID forget something I also purchased a Janome Sew Mini from Hancock fabrics, it was on sale and I did get FREE SHIPPING, I had to have one in case I needed it....argargarg and it's Amy's and texasjodylynn's (aka ribbon and glitter addict) fault. Big enabler's thems dare what they are. hehe

but that's enough!!! That's enough confessing. I'm over it. Insert evil laugh here. ut_a_a...

Ghosts of Christmas past & BLOG CANDY!

Hee isn't the title to my blog funny? Being that it's actually closer to Halloween than Christmas. But my post is about Christmas Ghosts (play on words intentional) Ok so I crack myself up...but if I don't who will? Scroll all the way to the end to see the BLOG CANDY DETE'S

Wow I am getting a lot of blogging done today! I was just thinking about Holiday cards and traditions past.
Originally from the midwest and lived in Wisconsin for a bit. And I had to have a theme for my holidays. My Christmas card theme used to be cows and every year my cards had to have a cow on it. I don't know why? We never had cows. But I guess it was because I lived in the country and I loved cows. So every year I would search for the "Lang" holiday cow card printed by The Lang company...

Anyway, This was before I discovered stamping and I still purchased my cards every year.

Since I moved west and to an entirely different lifestyle i.e. urban, city, beach. A Cow theme just didn't seem relevant anymore. Silly me.

As I was making holiday cards this weekend it brought me down memory lane and I remembered my cow cards that I used to just love. In fact I still look for them every year.

Borders carried the newest Lang boxed set cow card this last year. Was it ever cute too. The image with the little girl at the barn door with the calf , puppy and the wreath was last years. I almost bought it "just because" but thought that was silly since I have all this stuff to make my own.

These are a few screen shots of cards I sent out years past to give you an idea of what I mean when I say the cards had to have at least one cow in it. See the one card with the calf peaking his head out from behind the pine tree? If I was lucky it had a snowman and a cow on the card.

Anyway, I've yet to pick a new "theme" for my annual holiday card since moving. I've thought of something with "palm trees", "flip flops" etc but it just doesn't seem the same being that I am used to snow. In fact I am surprised that snowmen weren't my theme I love them almost as much as cows.

What are some of your ghosts of Christmas past (i.e traditions)? and/or What theme should I use now for my annual holiday card? Leave a comment answering one of these questions by Friday Sep 14, 2007, on my blog and I will randomly pick a winner from all of the comments. Out some blog candy will go to the winner. It's gonna be a secret what it is but it will be sooper nice whatever it is. I will post hints all week letting you know what it is. Guess what? This is my first ever BLOG CANDY giveaway. Wow!!!

Here's is a mini collage with the rest of cards from Christmas past:

Love is Patient

~love is kind.... OK how appropriate is this for a Sunday Card upload.... Enough said, ENJOY~
I really like the new scalloped punches I just got, see "Good Mail Day" posts. I am also loving taking a single element from a SU stamp like I did with this love birds stamp from the "Olive You" SU set. I love SU stamps and sets because you get so many stamped images per stamp/per set. I masked to hide the text that came with the stamp so I could customize it a new saying. I also masked to hide the faux cage too. I just wanted the little birds and the hearts. I used SU watercolor paper, bashful blue paper, SU markers. It is another pretty simple and QUICK card. I thought it would be nice for an anniversary card, a wedding card or valentines day. Cute cute cute. Ok so I am happy with myself. I apologize for the digi pic, it's a little dark. I don't own any photo editing software and just have a basic digicam. So no pro photos here. But it is clear enough so you can see.
~miss priss me =D
