Greetings

I know I know... winter is over and so are the holidays BUT I've had this design idea in my head for awhile now and was in the mood to make it.  I think it turned out very cute.  All stamps are *Crafty Secrets*.  I inked the image with white craft ink [SU] and made a winter scene even though the image is really a summer image [the snow banks are really flowers].  I covered these with liquid applique and heated it with my heat gun and walla... it looks like puffy snow.  I love the vintage feel of this card from the color of the cardstock, the monochromatic use of white ink and the lighter shade of green used for the greeting.  I used white flower soft for the house roof and dazzling diamond clear glitter for the light of the silvery moon.  I used my sharpie white marker for the smoke coming from the chimney.  I love this card.

Just a quick post to share a card I made with the Stampin Up set called *Farm Life*.  I love rustic, country and vintage images in general and this set met all of those.  I was so excited about how this turned out I wanted to post it right away.  I haven't been blogging much [I do visit fb more so lately] but I am hoping to remedy this SOOOOOON.  I've pretty much failed at my P.A.D. [picture-a-day] project, I've failed at staying focused on my word for the year F.I.T. [yeah not so much YET] soooo I have removed those page tabs until such time as I'm either compliant or caught up.  I have added a tab, however, titled *the little things* and I have a running list of things that I feel grateful for.  I want to fill that list up so I am keeping that tab active.

I stamped the fence using a Crafty Secrets set called *Sweet Kids* I only inked the fence part of the image.  I colored the fence with my Sharpie white pen, the rest of the images were colored in with my Copic markers.  I added creative candy to look like flowers and I used a Mulberry paper to add a touch of fiber and texture and I stamped the sentiment on this mulberry type paper.  I also airbrushed the back very lightly to give it an appearance of a blue sky.

Just a quick card post today.  This card is a Thank-You card for a male-singer-friend.  So I thought it was an appropriate sentiment.  Crafty Secrets Bird Notes set.

Easter Outing

Another one from CRAFTY SECRETS and using NO stamping.  Again, I used a vintage image from Crafty Secrets "Heartwarming Vintage Booklets, Seasonal" and I also used paper from the Heartwarming Vintage "Radiant" paper pack.  (non-compensated bragging).  I hope the googly-eyes don't make bunny look too scary.  He's goofy.  I need GLITTER today.

Happy Easter - Joyful Easter

It's all things CRAFTY SECRETS today.  And everyone must know how much I LOVE CRAFTY SECRETS.   It's hard to believe but yes, I made a card using NO stamping.  It's easy to do with crafty secrets images, see <--- click here...I did it before.  For this card I used a vintage image from Crafty Secrets "Heartwarming Vintage Booklets, Seasonal" and I also used paper from the Heartwarming Vintage "Radiant" paper pack.  (non-compensated bragging).  It was fun just decorating up a pretty image.  The only thing that limits you is your own imagination.  I made my own chipboard frame (blue glitter) using die-cuts.  I also used a mix of epherma/embellishments from my own private stash.  The cloth flowers are old "literally" so they are special because when they are gone they are gone.  The sheer polka-dot ribbon (I have some in every color) is from pink hedgehog website (again, non-compensated bragging) and truth be told I used it because I had an opportunity for embellishment (yep I dinked the glitter so I hid it with a ribbon).  I think it came together really nicely and definitely says Happy Easter and Happy Spring. 

 

Sometimes Magic Happens!

I used Crafty Secrets "Bird Lovers" set for this card. Remember! Click on any picture to enlarge and see the details better. I just love Crafty Secrets stamps and really don't get to play with them enough. I've often thought of having a "Crafty Secrets" month where I only use Crafty Secret's stamps. Wouldn't that be fun? Here is the set I used today for this project:

Gawgeous (non-sponsored gushing)

I just love the sentiment, "Of course you can fly, for dreams have wings". This card came out just how I had envisioned it. I used the branch stamp to create of subtle background. I also wanted it to have an "Asian" feel. Yep, I took a "Vintageish" stamp set and made it "Asianesck". Hence, the red flowers.

Vicki's Crafty Secrets Card Challenge - All Together Now -

Here is my submission for Vicki's Crafty Secret card challenge.

We each received a package of supplies to use as many or few as we like. I used Crafty Secrets new Bird Lovers set for my stamps. I just love the sentiment on the little placard thats says "All Together Now". That reminds me of me. It seems I'm always the ring leader trying to get everyone together all of the time. All Together Now folks lets sing in harmony. ROFL. Hardly EVER works that way but its fun to think it can. hehe. Anyway, I did this last night until 1 in the morning. The spirit moved me to create so I decided to get busy on my submission for this challenge (they are due on the 7th HELLO). I think it needs more, like a bow or something but I like how it turned out. Some of the finer details are... I doodled around the scalloped frame to give it some movement. I also used Crafty Secrets Cherubs set for some subtle flourishes in the background like the music was wafting around in the air above the tree. Whatever that was corny. I really liked how I basket weaved the checked ribbon. That was a last minute addition to the design. The corner of the weave is where I think it needs a bow but it was 1 am and I was tarred. I also like how I used the lacy bow to create a scallop on the bottom of the Crafty Secret card stock. If it wasn't for card challenges or swaps I don't think I would ever get any creating done. So I am very grateful for these because it makes me get busy in my craft room again. I miss it so much. But life always seems to step in and crowd my fun stuff out. Anyway, that was bordering on a whine (you know my favorite past time anymore). Hey I haven't whined in a long time I think I am getting better. Oh and here is who kept me company last night into the wee hours of the morning while I was creating. He curled up on my craft table in the corner and was there for the duration. It was so cute I wish I would have snapped a picture but this one from the morning will have to do. He doesn't like getting his picture taken. He doesn't run but he also doesn't cooperate. Pumpkin (we call him punky or doodoo) is my daughters cat. She is down from LA visiting for the month in-between apartments. She moved out of her apartment because her neighbors were difficult and parking turned out to be a bear. So I get to have a new cat friend for the month too. She might need to watch out or else I will have to keep him. =D

Let's Give Em' Sumpin' To Blog About...

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Summer. It sure is summer here in So. Cal. Yes, I know for the most part it's summer year round here but lets just say it's HOT. But it feels great. We are staying cool with my trusty ole a.c. I just have a little window model but it does the trick.

Woohoo! Well Allie isn't the ONLY PR!SSYPal that WON sumpin' Guess what? M!ssPr!ssy herself was one of the first 20 respondents to Vicki's card kit challenge over at "This Art That Makes Me Happy" (Crafty Secrets). In the coming days a package all things Crafty Secret will arrive and we will make a card with the contents of the kit each is different and its a surprise. I just missed getting in the last time Vicki had this... so I am super excited to have gotten in this time. Don't worry if this interests you, Vicki will hold another one soon. She's so very generous.

Crazy Tales from Paper Tales =D

Well I'm back from the morning over at Paper Tales (remember you can click on anything that is larger and in bold for hyper links to their blogs and websites also click on any picture to see it close up. My camera skills aren't the best so if you want a better look click on the pictures themselves for enlargements) and I am doing a quickie post with the sights of the Grand Opening. When you meet blog friends you feel like old friends the internet is wonderful the way it brings people together. We met some real PRISSyPal stamping royalty for sure....we met Stampin Gal Val, Emily over at Stampin Scoops, Linda of course and her MOM. I mean talk about A MUSE CREW. I also met some new PRISSyPals. One girl named Michelle over at Stampworkshop.com wow does she have a nice website. Go check it out because its real professional and there is a lot of great design ideas over there. It looks like she is a fellow SU demo too. HI MICHELLE!! new PRISSyPal. It was all such a flurry of excitement now that I think about it we should have hung around and talked with Linda and her mom some more. Well they had a class after us so it was a little hectic. As always Michelle and Helle were great fun. They are so nice and welcoming. I tell ya I should have taken a picture of the cookies and bars that they had for us. What was I thinking? Um it appears I must have a mani-pedi obsession or foot fetish because it's not the first time I've blogged about my nails. I really don't think my feet are all that. In fact one time I took a picture of my feet because it was injured. I need to stop giving so much BLog INK...aka BLINK to the topic of feet. ROFL.

My new mom!! Let me tell ya' she is one talented lady (you too Linda winkwink) I picked her brain as much as possible because she literally does thousands of card samples for all of the US A Muse events and openings and sneak peeks etc... She taught me how to tie a flatter knot. C O O L

3of6 (2nd set) We did masking, I learned sanding white core paper techniques. I also learned that I make the most mistakes of everyone and had to try things 3x's sometimes. I kept stamping upside down. I think I was so flustered because I was around royalty. hehe


My wish list just got smaller. This is my haul. OF course I had to shop! I finally got the Journal Notes from Crafty Secrets and I picked up a few more A Muse Stampers.

PRISSy Girls Were out on the Town -pics

Well as promised we did make it over to Paper Tales today (a quick stop on our lunch hour from work) and I can tell ya it is way more than we expected. Super fun. Michelle and Helle (pronounced hella "soft a" kind of like fella) are nicer than you can imagine. Sweetest girls on the planet but of course we knew that since they are PR!SSy girls. That's P aper, R ibbon, ! nk, S tampin', S crappin' and Y adayadayada for those of you that don't already know what PR!SSy stands for.

We definitely will return for all of their classes and the real Grand Opening on May 31st when Linda from A Muse is visiting. OMGolly all things A Muse were there. I finally got the vintage fan stamp and sentiment that I had on my short list (wishlist) forever. I of course had to have 2 each of all of the newest A Muse kitchen note 8.5x11 card stock in every color. I am super happy that this is available in card stock now. I think that is a brilliant idea.

I also picked up the scalloped noteworthy dp from Making Memories that I was looking all over for forever everyone else was sold out of forever.

There is just so much stuff there I can't even list it all in one post. They gave us some goodie bags jam packed with freebies.

Everything was so inviting from the storefront window, the shabby chic sofa or the yummy cookies they thought of all the details.

They told me to say hi to Vickie over at Crafty Secrets. Hi Vicki!! It was so much fun meeting people IRL. I can't tell you how weird it is to meet people you've never met and it feels like you know them like a long time friend. It's kind of like meeting your pen pal who you've corresponded with for years and finally meet f2f. I think blogs are a lot like pen paling to the world. I look like a total dope in this picture. Helle and Michelle look fabulous as ALWAYS.

T-3 days and counting.... Paper Tales Boutique and a Poll (above)

Since I don't have any of my own B-news (that's blog news) to report why not give some more blink (that's blog ink) to Paper Tales. I had a couple of questions ask to me as to whether they would be carrying altered art time items in addition to stamping and scrap schtuff. To tell you the truth I really don't know what they are going to carry besides the usual suspects in all things PRISSy. HOWEVER, they do have a new blog that is here and it has a sneak peak post of some of the items in their store (some of the items look like they might be altered artesk genre'). YIKES I AM SO FLIPPIN EXCITED. From the looks of this I finally have a FULL SERVICE A MUSE RETAILER AND CRAFTY SECRETS. Most of my current LSS do carry these items but only in small sections and never the full line of papers etc. Wowser it looks like it is going to be a really really nice place. Can't wait until the first. Should I camp out on the sidewalk so I can be the first customer? I am thinking that might be a cool idea.

Spring Joy

I had a play date with Vicki over at Crafty Secrets. She sent out 3 kits to 20 different peeps and we were supposed make something from what she sent. WELL unfortunately Mr. USPS did not deliver my kit in time so I didn't get to play. Never fear... even though it may not be the exact images we were supposed to use from the kit I decided to use what supplies I did have from Crafty Secrets and play along anyway (I wished I would have checked the original post before I got started, because I actually did have the exact images...maybe I will make another one). Don't ya' love kewpies ruby slippers?? and don't miss the funfluff bunny tummies and the ears details. ~enjoy

Dreams

WOW just when I didn't think it was possible? I've found a new F A V O R I T E stamp set. Just got my new Crafty Secrets "Sweet Kids" set in the mail today!! And I gotta tell ya'...I'm in L O V E. I used this sketch I saw over on Crafty Secrets Blog provided by MishMash. I punched little paper flowers (scroll down in this post to see the punch I used)out for her bonnet and put a tiny sparkle in the center of each flower. I think if you click on the pic it will enlarge for the detail. NOTE TO SELF: Don't run a 3-D creation through your cuttlebug. Yep I had the flowers and creative candy gems on the hat and decided to scallop the white matte. So I ran it through the cuttlebug and yepper you guess it flat flowers and even flatter bling. Yes, those little creative candy gems smash flat as a pancake too. I had to laugh. I scraped it off with my exacto knife and redid the pretty little paper flowers.

Ok sorry she doesn't have a blog or I would linkback to her but she is a creative chick and does some really really cute schtuff. In fact over Christmas she brought some schtuff to work to show me and it was soooooooo super cute I had to snap a picture of it with my camera phone. I've been meaning to upload these for her and so now I am finally getting around to it. Not only that it's a perfect time since I am doing "CyberLove Sunday" now. There are so many details to this little project I don't even know where to begin. This might need to be a case of a picture speaks a thousand words. Allison altered this C U T E Crafty Secrets Sweet Chips Little House for her Nana and had it in the mail in time for the holidays. I am sure her Nana L O V E D it. In fact I'm not sure how I didn't steal it from her before she mailed it. This first picture is the of the front of the little house. Little SU Mousy is greeting all of his guests.

This second picture is of one of the sides. Aren't her shutters sweet and her little flower garden on the side of the house. I especially love the Cuttlebug roof. It makes it look like a little Gingerbread house with lifesavers on top.

This third picture showcases the backside of the house. More cute little creatures in the flower garden. Looks like the birdie got a heart instead of a worm. I especially like the kitty sitting in the window. I believe that is an image from Technique Tuesday set called the dog and pony show. I thought the use of vellum to make a window was brilliant!!!

Here's one shot of the inside of the little house. She had the walls papered with all sorts of cute paper cutouts from Crafty Secrets. Like I said I only had a few good pictures using my cameraphone. It was so much cuter IRL. I hope you enjoy my first installment of CyberLove Sundays!!!

It's gonna be one lonely week in blogoland for sure

I can't believe how desolate it is gonna be in blogoland with CHA going on and everything. I must be the only one not attending and it's in my own backyard. I cannot wait until we get to see all of the new stuff that will be coming our way and the pictures that I am sure other PRISSy pals are gonna share on their blogs. For one I am especially excited about the Crafty Secrets new stamps sets that are coming out (a whopping 12 sets). The sneak peaks have been A M A Z I N G. Scroll down in this post to see the sneak peak of the latest stamp sets they are getting ready to release. I see my name on at least half of them for starters. Of course I would rather have it all, but half will have to do. Go check it out. They are cool. I'm not a paid endorser in anyway of CS just a number one fan!!

Question: Lacy Vintage Ribbon

A call out to Prissy Pals and blogoland. Where does everyone get their vintage lacy ribbon? I have been looking for some and I cannot find it. Does anyone have a great resource to purchase some of this stuff in bulk? All colors all patterns. It doesn't really matter. I just need some I don't have any of this style. Fairy Love

This card took waaaaaaay longer than it ever needed to. It's also not my usual style in that I'm a less is more kind of gal. I had quite a few happy accidents with this card and I think that is why it took me almost 2 days to finish. Yikes and I am not sure if it works even yet. Oh well they aren't always gonna be perfect. The Crafty Secrets Fairy had my name on it again and I just love her so much. This time I wanted it to look like she was perched upon an unfolding flower. The card catalog card was supposed to say author: fate; title: love; borrower: cupid. BUT because of a couple of glue errors and ink errors I had to cover my original intentions with the CS love stamps (which I L O V E) and a couple of punched out heart shapes. I also used the doodle set from SU. I stamped the flower from the SU doodle set with stazon and white embossing powder on vellum. Another "happy accident" because the first time I stamped it I messed up the glitter. So I made a bunch of extra leaves to layer over the original stamp. Then I had stamped and masked the entire focal image on one layer of card and air brushed the background. The background was too dark so I cut out the focal point and hence the layers. I telling you it was one mess after another. Anyway, this is the finished product. Whew. Next time maybe easier? It's pretty but it's awfully thick for a card. Have I mentioned that stickles are my new favorite tool? I love stickles I have some in every color now. Where have I been?

Here's wishing everyone a very happy, healthy and blessed New Year. Here is a pic of my first attempt at altering a birthday reminder rolodex.

I've been meaning to do one of these. I am going to make a divider card for each month (I only have January's finished right now, appropriately) and then have a mini-scrap/collage/ATCish page for each person on their birthdate including a picture of each person(if I have one). I've used a mix of supplies, the image of the hourglass is cutout from a Crafty Secrets (link in right column of my blog) booklet, the calendar printout is a free template that you can also find at Crafty Secret's website. The paper is from one of those powerpacks (you know one of those 10 zillion page bargain packs) I got a while back from a warehouse store. The ribbon I snagged from a bulk buy from pink hedgehog and I finally used my new mini-sew. I am such a clutz when it comes to sewing. Don't ask me how I got the thread twisted and knotted on the needle so bad I had to start over without even a first stitch made and that always happens to me when I sew. I don't get it? How can someone be sew (intended) clumsy around a sewing machine. I'm just all thumbs when it comes to a sewing machine. Don't get me wrong. I'm no amateur... I'm not an expert either but I have made many many items. But now I know why I don't sew much because every time I get around one I spend more time untying and unraveling knots than I do sewing. Does this happen to anyone else?

Snowman

Well I finally finished a card on Sat. (but of course the camera battery wasn't ready) so I couldn't post until now. This is NO stamping card... gasp. I used the cuttlebug winter wonderland embossing folder. I've been wanting to use this for so long. Once I got started I thought it was great stand-alone. I cut out the snowman and he is raised up on pop-dots but you can't tell by the picture. The little fleece corners are from American Crafts Newhouse Fleece Baby Cream. I seriously need another tub of those. The pink paper is Crafty Secrets. The ribbon is brown gingham but looks black in the picture. I really like the color scheme but I think it's imbalanced and needs blue at the top somewhere too. I colored him in with markers and of course I used glitter all over. Sketches aren't that easy for me. I should start doing some of the sketch challenges until I get used to this. I made this one up but not sure if it works for me.
