Sweet Peas

I had the bestest Mother's Day ever. One of my two daughters and I (the younger one) headed out to the Flower Fields in Carslbad, CA ( the picture of the sign links to the website). See the lego flowers in the picture? Even though I live near, I have never visited. I just wanted to share some images and flavor of our day with all of you in blogland. The weather was amazing, the flowers unending beauty, and there was a kiosk selling music CDs (regional type) and the song playing was Bessame Mucho. It was ironic because my daughter's name is Bess and her Grandma (deceased,on my husbands side) always used to sing that song to her when she would walk in the room. My daughter and I looked at each other and said Grandma's here (in spirit). We thought how appropriate on mother's day for that song to be playing through the air? Very serendipitous and sweet. It gets even better.

.... me and my daughter at the entrance

...There was a poinsetta tent

... a cute little lemonade stand. Isn't this silly? Note the mini lemon tree on the counter.

Here's where it gets better....A Sweet Pea Maze of which all mothers were allowed to pick a bouquet of Sweet Peas for themselves for mother's day (pic follows of my bouquet). So perfect. I always called my two little girls my "Sweet Peas". I was just pinching myself for the luck of it.

..me and my bouquet of Sweet Peas!

Here's one of my real life Sweet Pea's, my other Sweet Pea couldn't make it.

... here is my other Sweet Pea at Christmas in New York in front of a Picasso. Like mother like daughter drawn to all things arty...Picasso no less. Isn't it funny?

...another nice shot

We rounded out the morning by driving home on historic hwy 101 south

to San Diego through Encinitas, Del Mar, Solano. We stopped at St Tropez Cafe for brunch where we had Eggs Benedict, one of my favorites.

I hope you all had as wonderful a mother's day as I did!
